Twin Cities thing. Kinda funny my lawn does not have dandelions or clover there is nothing for the bees except the flower pots my wife has all around the house.
I'm surrounded by thousands of acres of woods and crop lands. There are a lot of trees and things in the woods that will be flowering soon along with the crops. I also have a 1/2 acre of clover next to my beans that the bees can use.
You're not alone in that. I grew up in the country, miss it a lot. Even the 30k population I live in now is way too many people.
I appreciate your comments. If I could give one piece of advice in regard to this it would be start saving now if this is something you wish for. I wish I had done this (acquire property) sooner. It is very enjoyable.
It's been a topic of conversation in NE WI as well. Got someone near my place that put signs in the right of way so the county won't mow it. It is a Monarch butterfly "safe haven". Not a single plant that they feed or reproduce on are in the area.
Yeah, those butterflies like the milkweed plant. They grow along my easement but I mow them too. There are plenty of other places for them to feed and procreate. A guy that lives near me has a 30 acre wild field for such wildlife. Somehow, he tags and releases the monarch butterflies. Sent from my SM-G981U using Tapatalk
So I get home yesterday and had every intention of trimming back the hostas around the house then I got a text from the neighbor, happy hour by the fire pit. It was a kick off to spring, first pontoon of the spring was out on the water life was good. Then some a-hole backs up to the boat landing, puts his boat in and just leaves his truck parked at the landing. You do not do that not ever, probably was some jack ass from north dokata that has no idea how to act around a GD lake. My wife calls me Walter Subchak when I get like that I wanted to take a baseball bat to anything glass on his truck. I had another beer instead.
Within 3 years I hope to move from a metro MSA of 2.5m people to a town of 12k... ...only took 30+ years.
