Actually I think it is as stupid as you do. I just find humor in some of the stupid things. I understand what you were saying in the original post. I agree with you. Should have just said that and kept my humor to myself.
I don't think I am driving home Monday night, I will just stay in a hotel by work. Save about 6-8 hours 1 2 days of driving.
I’m guessing you work in the west metro? That drive up 94 has gotta have you on edge on days like Friday?
No I'm just touchy about this because it is effecting hubby big time. He's being forced into decisions earlier than his in minds time frame. Faster than my time frame as well.
Yes that does suck but everything is changing and not for the better. Right now, we have probably lost our seasonal workers with this Ukraine fiasco. One was supposed to be here already. The other mid-March. Harris throwing out empty threats to Putin just makes matters worse. You can't find dependable seasonal workers here in the US. It's too late to get the paperwork done to get a couple from another country. With covid, it has been a nightmare to start with. The younger US generation doesn't want to work even full time on the farm. Too many hours and they think they should be making big dollars right out of the gate. They want the big vacations and a 40 an hour or less work week because it might interfere with the weekend lake lot time. 15 - 30 years ago, you could find retired guys to run tractors in the spring and fall. Those guys are dead now. You just don't find them anymore even in my age bracket. Unless something changes, the boss and I could very well be putting in 5000 acres by ourselves. It is what it is... you deal with it. The local businesses are in the same boat not being able to find workers. There are a lot of available good paying jobs out there that aren't being filled. Trust me, I am sure the boss is worried about me. I could easily find a job making slightly less but also work a lot less hours. Loyalty is the only thing stopping me. God knows I don't want more hours, which is going to happen. I am getting too old for this crap. I really do feel your pain. Things should be easier.
I'm just north of the twin cities. Wouldn't be too upset if it stays up your way. Lol. None the less, I filled the gas can, checked the oil and ran the blower. Should be good. A week ago, the temp came up and we had some sloppy wet stuff come done. The darn plow came through and left a mound at the end of the driveway. The temp dropped rapidly and, by the time I got home from work, it was hard as a rock. figured it would be there for the rest of the winter. Got up to almost 40 today. Took a couple hours but, got 90% of it removed. What didn't come up is smooth enough for the blower to go over. I can live with that. Glad I don't work tomorrow. Sore everywhere. Doesn't sound like Tuesday will be any better, though.
I take 94 from Albany to Rogers exit. Can't stay in the city I have to bring my son's dog home with me, we are watching Larry for the week. We already have at 6" when I left at 5:15 going to be crap drive and snowplowing when I get home.
Wife called me she had to pick the dogs up and toss them outside, evidently there is a large snowdrift against the door.
57 today, thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow, then freezing rain to snow Wed. night through Thusday night with a couple inches of snow when all is said and done. One month winter here.
We had our nice day yesterday ... 48. Today 27 then teens until March. Also 3-6" of snow tonight through tomorrow evening. So far, we have no 50 degree days forecast even for the month of March.
So, how is the weather in MN today? Still trying to figure out which of the local weather people is going to be correct for this storm. So far, it's 3-12 inches. Could be sleet if they are very wrong and the front moves farther north
The snow line is right at St Cloud now, not a flake in the Twin cities Metro. I might get lucky and only have 1/4 of my commute on snow covered roads. When I left home this morning we had 4-6" of fresh snow hard to be sure with the blowing and drifting, it has snowed constantly since, luckily I get more snow tomorrow.
Supposed to bit us later today and through tomorrow. Snow is currently 60 miles north. Don't fell like getting up early to fire up the snow blower before work. Been about a month since we had enough snow to bother with.
Had to do the annual workplace harassment training...frankly, it's training/reminders that are greatly common sense and mostly human decency sorts of topics. But this year we start the class with a warning disclaimer...seemed so snowflaky and safe-space-ish...unreal that sort of message is needed.
