When and where I grew up, Coach Bobby Knight was the pinnacle - Now that I look back, The General was one of, if not THE first high-level victims of Woke Millennial Cancel Culture. Coach Knight was fired in September 2000 - for chin checking a punk kid who put his hand on him as he passed by. (Knight's assistant and later replacement head coach Mike Davis confirmed this version) Bob Knight Fired 20 Years Ago Today, and Indiana Basketball Has Never Been the Same - Sports Illustrated Indiana Hoosiers News, Analysis and More The kid who started The Incident was born in 1982 (then referred to as Gen Y, but now referred to as Millennials.) I happened to be at IU when he was fired. The coward, Miles Brand, later head of the Woke Wave at the NCAA, intentionally fired him on a Sunday as Indiana blue laws forbade carry out booze on Sundays. That did not deter us. CNN.com - US - Indiana students march on campus to protest Knight's dismissal - September 11, 2000 Even back then, CNN was Fake News- I was witness to that crowd. There were easily 5000, and quite likely 2x more students that took part. It was hard to see just how many at ground level. All I remember is that they closed streets for almost 2 miles, and I went to a high school whose gymnasium sat about 4k and it was probably 2x more people than that.
Live From My Back Porch My rant- can't let my dogs out until they leave. My Giant would try to go over the fence at him. Tried scaring him away, but these suburban yotes aren't scared a bit. They DGAF. I chucked an orange at him but he just trotted off about 20 yards.
...and no, I can't shoot at him. I'm in city limits and that's a major thoroughfare at the top of the screen with a neighborhood on the other side- I hit chainlink or that frozen ground and someone likely get hurt by a ricochet.
my female dog is fixed. No way am I dealing with Mrs. Noodles and her at the same time. They are both killers on a good day.
follow up rant...hurt my shoulder AND elbow (needed Tommy John surgery 20 years ago, never got it) when I chucked that orange. Whenever I forget I am not 25, my body reminds me I am 45 in short order.
I consider myself lucky to live where I do. My male dog will chase off coyotes but my female will flee the scene and run for the house. If it's light enough outside, I shoot all that I can. You can tell by the pic that the female is nervous. The big guy pissed on the dead coyote. Good boy!
This morning when I went to let the dogs out there was a decent buck still out in my beans. I thought heck with it and let them out anyway. The buck was hesitant to leave and looked like he was going to stand his ground. My female dog immediately tried to get back in the house. I had to convince her to get back out there and do her job. In the mean time my other dog convinced the buck to leave although he did so quite slowly. Sometimes you just never know.
IT dork shows up for work at 9:45 then parades around the office wearing a scarf, what a f'ing dork. I need to hire an office linebacker.
Pay my flight and cover a weekend of ice fishing, I can be there Friday. I have Monday off for FJB Day. Just have to make sure I am back in time to watch my youngest on Tuesday while my wife works.
Of course, corporate nepotism. I never see that in the university setting. I hope there is someone else to inherit the company.
He will not be inheriting the company, or any part of ownership ever. Matter of fact the owners funeral will be the dorks last day.
Client project... A team with questionable skills A client with a train wreck of problems An organization with an average tennis of <1 year Many projects underway that aren't talking Client has 40+ ERP systems (rationalizing hasn't been a priority) Client orders we can't talk to the business T&M contract Not a recipe for success.
When I bought my first my pillow they had just 1 kind, my new one had 3 options for firmness I took the middle firmness. It has eliminated the 3 pain spots I wake up with in my lower back. The new sheet set was delivered this morning.
I was asking about how school for grandson was going. I asked if there is CRT and sexual books kids are reading or being read to...That seems to be non issue here though... I'm having a very difficult time with the following: 1st grade art teacher has talkative 1st graders.. duh! Gets irritated with talking and FLIPS OVER A WORK TABLE IN A FIT OF ANGER. Gets turned in and principal only says he'll have a talk with her. Thinking of trying to get this in the local penny savers rant section. That is mental child abuse ...if a parent did that around their own kid at home and the school found out, social services would be called on them. We need one volunteered parent/grandparent rotating per class in all schools as observer's. At minimum there needs to be camera's that can not be accessed by school faculty reviewed each week by a independent board of non liberals nut jobs
