You guys need to pick who you shovel for better...Lol I have shoveled many a drive....Though I pick the elderly and hurt ppl. Everyone else is on their own. I have always been thanked.
I no longer help those in need ! A few years ago I came across an elderly couple stuck on shoulder of road in some snow ! not real deep, Asked the Mr. if he would like me to pull him out, He said yea that would be great, Backed up put my shock belt on, Pulled him out, was pretty easy, He got out of car, Thought he was going to offer me $, NOPE, He said he was going to call cops because I may have scratched his bumper, I wiped the mud off, nothing scratched, told him to kiss my ass ! another, riding down the road, saw a car pulled over, steam coming from radiator, Was in November, so I assumed a deer vehicle collision, was correct,! stopped to offer help, Either call for help r see what I can do, Noticed Minnesota license plates, was a 30 ish something female, She said, she had called for help already, Then I noticed a small buck in the ditch, head up in much distress, appeared back was broken, Went to truck, pulled out 22 pistol, went over, put buck out of its misery, Turns out she is an inti hunter lib, totally freaked out calling me every name she could think of for killing poor animal ! Said she would call authorities have me put in jail. I left her still screaming at me ! NOPE NO MORE
So I've mentioned we live in. Well the past two years of wet, warm weather has reeked havoc on our treess. Our house is surrounded by beech. Beech canker raced through them all and now things are dangerous around the house. We had to have a guy come up Today to give us an estimate on dropping the dead and leaning one's around house and drive. Plus a lightening strike maple on edge of drive. 1200.00 per day full crew, a day and half job. Hate the cash flow will love the sun.
That really isn't that bad of a deal. I had 6 trees that were by the house and overhanging the garage. Was worried they would do a lot of damage as they were old trees and my main power line ran through them. I did it myself. It cost $750 to rent a 50 ft lift a week. Since I just have a small trailer, I figured it would take me two weeks to get the job done as they were pretty big trees. I got lucky and the boss let me use his bobcat and 1 ton truck with a 30 ft trailer to haul the trees away. Got it done in 3 days. Just the time I saved and taking the hard work out of the equation was great. Had I hired someone to do it, the bill would have been at least $4000 - 5000.
Oh I know it's a GREAT deal. These are big dead trees and several right on top of house and our power line to our meter pole. I'm just cheap, today we had to hire a guy to come shovel roofs again..hubby is tuckered out. Believe it or not, for as much time I spend up in trees, I'm afraid of heights. Get me on the roof...I have a hell of a time getting back on the ladder to come down.
He's just dropping, the rest is up to us...Not a problem for me. Son will cut logs and haul for fire wood. We've saved him a ton of money this year.
No rant for the weather today BEAUTIFUL and 30's. Though thinking we'll have snow here in June...Hubby moved a lot of snow today. Just a few of the piles.
Fox Sports 2 right now. I fear the future of our country, both the future of it and the future for it. We will not fend off an overtaking.
I don't know what you saw, but I agree. We're about 3/4 of the way there. Honestly all They have to do is wait us out. Another 10-15 years and the only ones of us left that give enough of a $hit will be too old, busted up, or already dead.
Spent five hours on Saturday busting through a two inch layer of ice on the streets so people could get out of our neighborhood. Plow trucks never come down on to our side street. Along with a few other guys in the neighborhood, we created a 100 yard stretch of lanes of bare concrete about two feet wide so there was plenty of bare concrete to get traction on it. Rant 1: broke my pick axe Rant 2: five hours of work, bare concrete paths and people were still losing their minds, hitting the melting ice and sliding backwards down the hill. Rant 3: The city finally sent sand and plow trucks down the street at 10:30 pm on Saturday after most of it had melted off. What remained, the plows missed. The sand, thrown on to top of the ice, just made a bigger mess than what was left. The streets would have been better Sunday morning if they had just stayed away. Rant 4: Monday morning, my hands and forearms are still sore from the work and absorbing the impact of the pick axe going through ice and bouncing off the concrete.
Cut my damn finger yesterday making Sunday dinner, wrapped it up and kept cooking, show must go on. Took the bandaid off today, no wonder it hurts like hell probably could have used stitches, luckily I will probably bump it 20 times a day.
Plows came down our street again last night. I have no idea why, it was already clear. If a person can't drive on those streets, never get behind the wheel again and go straight to the nursing home or mental institution. You failed at life.

So my new pillow showed up today. Listen I am not a whole cancel culture crap kind of guy. Mike I bought a pillow because I liked the product, just because I bought does not mean I want your book, I don't need the flyer for the Lindell recovery network. Just to clarify it would bug me no matter what company I buy from, I will take a product catalog but do not send me other stuff and every email I get is going to push me further from another purchase.
So I do not have a king size pillow case to go with my king size pillow so guess what ordered a set of my pillow bedding, according to my wife the price is very good she says you can not get a decent set of king size sheets for under $100.
Don't get me started on pillows. I'm a side sleeper. Every pillow I've ever bought seemed firm and would hold it's shape. Nope. Within a couple months it's 2 inches thick. Tried a memory foam pillow shaped for side sleepers. Hot in the summer and hard as a rock if you wake up with a hangover. I plead the fifth. Lol. My brother kept bragging up his My pillow. About a year ago, I broke down. Ordered the appropriate ones according to their chart. I was excited. Woke up to a divot in the middle and a kink in my neck! WTF? The stuffing moved to the outside. I thought that wasn't supposed to happen. I've tried everything. Even shook the crap to one end and pinned the excess material over. Hard as a rock. But, if you think I'm throwing that over priced POS in the trash, think again. I've never paid that much for a pillow. I'll fight with it until I find a better solution.
