Last pic explains everything. I saw 7 bucks that would go 130-170 this year. I had 4 within 50 yards, but was only able to get 1 into range- couldn't get a shot off.

This pic is blurry because I had my camera in my right hand, bow in left hand, grunt tube in my mouth, doing everything at the same time! He would NOT come my way! He was on a hot doe!

I guess I would have to say these two. My fiance and her little girl holding their first buck(I shot it, they held it). Avalyn, who is 5, didn't really know what to think but with mom there she stuck it through. My fiance has already asked for a bow and jokes about wanting to be the next Tiffany Lakosky. Baby steps I tell her. She said just last night that she better take up hunting if we're going to be married so we have one hobby together. She's a great girl.

Highlight of my year was taking my 5 year old daughter on her first deer hunt.

And taking a doe I was targeting. It was the first time I targeted a specifc deer and successfully killed it.

Vito, that first pic is ridiculously cute. How was she on the hunt? My son will be 5 in March and I'm thinking of taking him out for the first time to sit with me next fall.

The girl never misses a chance to pose! :D I took her during the early antlerless season which is in late September. It was warm and the deer have not been pressured. We sat on the opposite side of an alfafa field so we could see the deer coming from 200-400 yards away and usually funnel down between woodlots (we sat there). That way she could move around and talk quietly, but not spook deer, and have plenty of warning to hold still if they came closer. We saw 15 does and fawns, but none came closer than 75 yards. She even spotted a few before I did at 250 yards away. She loves to tell that part. It was the best hunt I have ever been on. I spent more time watching her reaction than I did looking for deer. :)

    Hmm..
    I had little bucks close.

Had more deer bed down in sight this season than any other. I also saw more decent bucks (out of range) than any other season.

This buck looks smaller in the pics than he was. Not a half bad 9 pointer. He's guarding a doe that is also bedded (she's on the left side of picture).

You can see it's pretty thick where I hunt.

I didn't get any better pictures because there were 5 other bucks hanging around and I didn't want to move around too much.

Other pictures I would post if I had them would be of a horseshoe (lucky that I recovered the deer that I shot) and of Deb and Louie because out of everything, having good friends sharing our hunts really made the season.

I had a great year taking a doe, buck and bobcat. The bobcat was the most memorable hunt but I didn't get any pictures. [IMG]

It has nothing to do with age and everything to do with the miles. My backyard in '09.
