Hey guys, this is a thread I posted over on HNI. I'd like to know your thoughts.

As mentioned in another post, my wife just bought me another trailcam, a Leaf River IR7SS. I now own six different brands of trailcams. There are things that I like about all of them but there also things about each one that could be improved. It got me to thinking, what would be the perfect trailcam? Below is a list of things I would like to see all wrapped up in one unit to make the decision easier.

    a. Instant trigger
    b. Wide sensing area (A camera, no matter how fast it is, can't take a picture of what it can't see)
    c. No recovery time between triggers (this is a biggie)
    d. White-flash capabilities in higher end cameras
    e. Video with sound in all units (this is where I think most manufactures are headed in the future)
    f. Capable of transmitting quality photos and vids to your computer.
    g. All these features for around $250.00

If you all can think of anything else for the perfect camera, please feel free to share your comments.

    Blessings.....Pastorjim

The perfect trail camera to me would be a Reconyx that can also take video's and also have sound to It.

I would agree, I would also love to see Reconyx come out with a slightly cheaper standard flash unit that maintains the amazing battery life of the IR units. Lets say a 5 mega-pixel unit with standard flash, 4 month battery life, 1/4 second trigger speed, 1 second delay between photo's (gonna be hard as the flash would need time to charge), video with sound, and the over saturated photo colors like the Cuddeback which makes everything "pop"

Hey Buck Magnet, what kind of battery life are you getting on your Reconyx? The batteries in mine seem to drop off pretty quick, especially in cold weather. Example; I put it out last Tuesday with new batteries and when I checked it on Friday, they were down to 77%. I've noticed when the batteries begin to get lower, the night-time photos become grainy. I know Reconyx recommends using lithiums or recharchables but I haven't done that yet.
