The ironic thing is that the patriots were fined $1 million, but Brady loses about 2 million in wages from his suspension. The patriots actually made $1 million out of this. Obviously, I'm sure they would rather have their quarterback for the first four games Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yes. The NFL teams are separate business entities which are not non-profit organizations. The NFL will not show significant taxable income (if any) on their tax returns so making this change will not make a big difference to them financially. But, they will no longer have to make their tax returns available to the public which includes information such as compensation to the commissioner.
I find this all very interesting, considering I am not a football fan at all...it keeps people interested, even though it mostly negative. From the outside looking in ...the NFL sure seems like it run buy a bunch of ******s and it carries over to the players and teams...
Cell phones show both sides of any text conversation....why would they have even needed Brady's phone for the "investigation"?
Well if you read much about coverage of golf on TV you would know that in the past year of golf on TV there have been instances where rules violations were witnessed by TV viewers and reported to the PGA. Golf is just like any other sport played for money, some are going to go to great lengths to get an upper hand.
Thank you for educating me about golf. The rules violations called in by viewers have zero to do with the golfer deliberately trying to gain an advantage over the field. 99.9% of the time it is the golfers mistake and lack of knowledge of the rule. For example rule 26-1 with Tiger Woods at the Masters when he dropped 2 yards past where he played his previous shot after hitting it in a hazard on 15 at the Masters in 2013. He was thinking he wanted 2 more yards for a better number to land the ball on the green and made a mistake regarding the rule that states as near where the last shot was played. He wasn't trying to get away with anything. If you ever watch a PGA tour event, most instances where there is ever a question of a ruling they have those dudes in shirts and ties with walky talkies? The player immediately calls them over to go over the ruling to ensure they get it right. In fact there are a lot of times golfers call a ruling on themselves without anyone else knowing they even broke a rule. I've done it myself several times. Middle of the woods trying to chip out, ground your club and the ball moves. Nobody on planet Earth would know, but it's up to you for the integrity of the game to call yourself on it. Happens all the time. Brian Davis on first playoff hole brushed a reed in his back swing. Called himself on it which in turn cost him a chance to win the tournament but conceded to Jim Furyk. I could go on and on and on, but to be honest it's not worth my time with you. To even insinuate golf is dirty in comparison to football, basketball or baseball is just absurd. By the way ...... I know a couple things about the game.
So the Patriots feel they are innocent of any wrong doing but they have suspended their ball guy "the deflator" and equipment guy without pay? Can anyone make any sense of this?
That's the real tragedy in this whole thing. From my understanding the two guys involved did not want to do this, their text messages back and forth pretty much shows that. They felt compelled to do it because Tom Brady was telling them to do it. Just another example of how poorly the Patriots go about their business.
