I don't think it's as unlikely as Brady and the Patriots being stupid enough to try it, especially considering that Brady played better with the game ball properly inflated. I think it makes more sense that it was a set up to cause the Patriots trouble and possibly cost them their star quarterback for the super bowl. Personally I think it makes more sense than the Patriots doing it. I also find it a bit silly to compare footballs under inflated by 1-2 psi to a MLB player being found guilty of using steroids.
I read the summary of the actual report, to me there is no question that the two employees did it. There's also no question that Brady participated in it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There seems to be a pattern in New England. They break so many rules that they just feel like they can get away with anything.
It's actually more like when you're king of the mountain, everyone is going to take a shot at you. This whole affair is sort of like performance enhancers in MLB, no one knows how much stuff was used by the "greats" in the golden days...in this case no one knows how many other teams have been screwing with ball pressure, it's hardly ever checked after the initial game ball check. Aside from that, the report isn't conclusive...a ton of ambiguity from what I've read, mostly speculation and assumption. "Likely and probable" are far from definitive terms. If they couldn't come to any definitive conclusions they should have dropped it.
The integrity of the game is still important, and it's very clear that the patriots have a different view of that than the NFL and its fans. So there was no video explicitly showing the action, but there was clearly enough evidence to say they know they did it and they know at least Brady was aware and involved. I don't think the league is picking on the patriots, actually I think it's the opposite. They have been so lenient with them that the pats have taken advantage of it.
Lol, integrity of the game? Sorry but that's been gone, league wide, for a very, very long time. In this case the spotlight just got shone on the team many people want to knock off the top rung. Scrutiny gets to be far more harsh when you're on top and everyone is looking for an advantage to chip shot you. Brady still played better with the properly inflated balls so what was the supposed advantage? Mountain out of a proverbial mole hill.
Based on what's in the report, I'm shocked they came to such a non committal conclusion . Anyone who has actually read the report and all the associated text messages will no doubt see where the guilt lies - with the two patriot employees and Brady himself. Sure the evidence is circumstantial but highly suspicious. Seriously, the equipment guy actually took two bags of balls out if the officials room (one bag for each the Patriots and colts) without the refs permission (first time the official had seen this done in 19 years on the job) and headed down the tunnel. He stopped at the bathroom and dropped the bag of Colts balls on the floor and took the patriot balls into the bathroom for a 1 - 2 minutes. You couple that with the text messages and there is no doubt who is responsible. Also the conclusions of the report is essentially irrelevant. The NFL will form it's own conclusions based on the evidence presented and issue punishment based on that, which will be tough since there is no evidence that anyone of the Patriots brass knew this was going on, just the two equipment employees and Brady. The phrase "more probable than not" is standard language the NFL has used for years when they are certain something did in fact happen in regard to violations of their rules. It equates to "preponderance of the evidence" which is the standard applied in most civil lawsuits. The attorney Ted Wells is not uncertain of his findings in the 243 page investigative report.
I think the report is pretty clear. If you think it's all made up and that Brady is innocent of this, there's no hope for you, no matter the evidence proposed. At this point it's not if he did it, it's what is the punishment going to be? Goddell is at an odd point where this has to be completely right. The last few times he's had to hand out punishments, it's gone terribly wrong, almost to the point of losing his job.
Football is dead. The sport will only be relevant about another 15 to 20 years. High school football fields are already starting to be converted to soccer fields.
Its funny how obvious the lines are between Brady-lovers and everyone else. They are sneaky and consistenly walk the line between legal and illegal.
Really? I disagree, I don't think the report is clear at all. If the league wants to be fair about it they should have an independent investigation done rather than be done by an investigator from the leagues law firm. All this proves is that Frame Gate is another embarrassment for the league. It also proves that when the league mafia wants a record breaking QB to retire, he probably should retire. There's no way in hell that I'll ever believe Brady was stupid enough to pull something like that over 1psi underinflated balls that the game itself proved was of no advantage. The whole ordeal reeks of something more than what it looks like on the face of it.
If you think the NFL is at all happy about this situation or somehow framed it you are out of your mind. Brady is one of the leagues biggest stars and Goodell is also a close friend of Robert Kraft. None of this good for the league in any way.
It's stupid, lol. But the text messages between the two dudes are funny as hell. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
