Best of luck Ash. Praying you find him. hunted my place last night and saw another cam that got stolen. Zero clue when or by who - but another string of crap coming my way I guess. Supposed to rain all afternoon so we are gonna check what cameras are left, re hang any that are low up high with stick or ladder help and pray he didn’t steal any others.
No luck. We walked the creek. Found my arrow at the impact site. It was covered in crap and a little blood. Going to take a nap and go out and shoot my bow if the rain holds off. The only thing I’ve done different with my bow prior to season is a new peep on it. I wanted the larger one for low light conditions but when I shoot my target I’m good but I’m never this bad on deer. I feel calm when I’m shooting I must be pulling off to soon and not following through. I even tell my self this before the shot but same result again.
My son shot a decent four-point yesterday on the rifle hunt. Here’s a picture of him and my granddaughter with the deer. Ash, sorry to hear about the deer. I leave this Friday for Kansas. So hopefully I can put a couple points on the board
Ty, I hate when people steal cams. At home here we mostly hunt public land. We have been real lucky we’ve only had one cam stolen.
Sorry about your deer Ash, it happens to everyone if you hunt long enough. Ty man that's sad about your cameras. Sure be nice to catch that thief and get some satisfaction.
Oldcarp that's is a nice mule deer your son got. My only gun hunting trip out west was years ago in Colorado. We had tags for elk and mule deer. 1st couple of days we didn't see much, then we had a foot of snow over night and mule deer were everywhere. I was walking a long a brushy ridge came to opening, looked and saw a huge body and rack mule deer maybe 150 yards just down hill and standing out in the open looking at me. It's one of the best memories I have of hunting. That mule deer standing in the open in bright sunshine in the new snow.
Went out to shoot a doe tonight and only had a spike in range. My youngest son came Sat. He had a good hunt saw a bunch of deer and got a buck chasing does around the corn field. With two small sons a job with long hours he doesn't get to hunt much.
Sounds like a fun day @farmer rick all around. Update on my trespassing saga - pulled cams (hung a few more up HIGH - and removed a few low ones within arms reach) in the pouring rain. The ********* came back the 17th and 28th of September. Guy has to be within walking distance. Got a crystal clear image of the dudes face and if this machete wielding (always had one in photos) doesn't look like a straight up scum I don't know what does. Law already has all the photos of him and the update of the new camera stolen. The 28th I also had a ********* construction company owner cross the property line from his construction site (he knew boundaries) and proceed to walk over three hundred yards through two plots and past multiple fenced trees to another property boundary of mine. Little does he know I know his name and the two landowners of the real estate that hired him have an email incoming that will have the CO involved in my other case CC'd on it "incase the theft case is related" - just to put some heat on the fire of honesty from the *********.
County Cop buddy said circulate that mug shot to city cops (my property is a large urban spot) and one is bound to know him. I'm betting that scar isn't from an "accident"
This sucks… Why cant people just behave But then I’d be out of job too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ty I hope they catch that guy. If they do Ty just bring them out West here. He’ll be coyote poop in the desert after a couple days
Soccer is over! We got 1st in the tournament, the kids were absolutely awesome playing three games. It’s kind of sad it’s over, but it’s once less thing on my plate to work on. Hunting has been slow and the weather has been up and down. I’m cleaning out some space in the garage tonight, but will hitting the woods the next few evenings while I have the time. We are closed for youth weekend and my son is 1 year too young to use an excuse to hunt. He hasn’t really shown mulch interest in going with me, and I’m not going to push it on him. Hopefully tomorrow evening I can connect with that 10point or a wandering bigger buck.
Well, cleaning the freezers, this is going to be an issue, that’s all I have left. And yes, that’s the top of our wedding cake from 2013, we were on vacation at the year mark, now we are just afraid to throw it out; like a good luck omen.
