I decided that just one camera wasn’t enough so I ordered two more Stealth Cams. Nothing fancy and no cellular stuff.
What is up champs! I want to apologize big time! I have been so busy since March. I started a new job and bought a new house that needed work before I moved myself and my boys in, but we’re finally in our new home. I’m way behind and will probably try to get caught up in the next few days while I have some “down time” at work while one of my machines that I’m building is being debugged. And from here on out I am going to be much more active. Has anyone else gotten their deer back from last season that helped us secure the W? I just got mine last Thursday and he looks great. Also I’m going to add a picture of the favorite part of my house. I’ve always wanted a barn picture with my deer and haven’t had one taken yet so I figured I’d bring it inside so I can see it every day. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Great looking mount Mitch! Needless to say I didn’t take my busted off buck to the taxidermist. Besides, I will not take another deer to a taxidermist unless it’s a full velvet buck over 125 or a buck that’s over 145.
@MIHOYT89 digging the set up...once I either release some saved cash or save up enough and start our basement finishing (unfinished presently....typing with concrete under my feet presently LOL) I am actually setting up an entire room/office set up in the corner that I want to have look almost like a small cabin downstairs. Barn sided look complete with a window into the office and a door that looks outside to lead into it...in there it will be all wood style walls and such (maybe some washed white ship lap close to what your wall is)...or black painted board walls (I always envision a black wall with mounts and lighting for them...). I can only dream now. As for mounts I should be getting a call any week now from my guy to bring the skull plate and antlers back to him. He is highly sought after so takes nearly a year almost usually.
Loaded up and heading to the woods to set some sticks up. It’s hot and humid, going to be rough, need to stay hydrated and pay attention to myself. I’m pretty excited to get out there, break. In the new saddle and get things half assed ready to go.
Terrible day to do this, it’s hot as balls. I got one set roughed in, had to trim a bunch of vines. Took a break and cut the owners field/camping area. Going back in to scout and check another spot.
I think this will be the killing spot, tons of old rubs, when I had a camera here late season last year, it was like a highway. There are 3 predominant trails all converged here.I’ve always stayed out because it was thick, but now that I’m up a tree, there are a lot of little shooting lanes. I’ll have to come back and trim some, but it’s looks good so far. Worst case, I’m closer in than I’ve ever been.
That’s a great looking spot. I just put out three more trail cameras here in my home place. I managed to get the old Covert to work.
I hope I get pics of this buck again. He’s the one I named Trump because his antlers look like a “comb-over”. I’ve gotten tons of pics of him the past two years so I know he’s a 3 year old this year. This pic is a still from a video I shot of him walking in late last year. I never realized how big bodied he was until he walked right to the base of my tree. I can’t help wondering why his rack is so weird, but even as a little spike they were wonky. It’ll be interesting to see if he’s grown a better rack this year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Wow that's strange, don't think I ever seen a rack like that, especially both sides curving the same way.
Well may have picked up another spot to hunt...that swamp property I brought up awhile back Pops was looking at buying and offered a price just got the owner last night on the phone and they accepted his offer - title company has been contacted and now we just wait for the deed to be drawn up and recorded. Happy for Pops and will be interesting to see just what lives in that riverbottom.
I just got back from my brother's place in Flippin, AR. I ran up yesterday to do some bass fishing with him on Bull Shoals Lake. We fished yesterday afternoon from 4:00 to 7:30 and I managed to catch one nice spotted bass on a spinnerbait. This morning we fished from 6:00 to 11:30. I caught one really nice largemouth on a topwater lure and caught five more on a Zoom Black Ruby Trickworm. Lost a few more and had one break off on the hooks set. All in all it was a nice trip.
What if not needing to sign up for the 2021 deer contest was just an attempt to make sure we do not repeat as winners? Little Chief!!!!! We good ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
