Looks good Steve, all soybeans? How many acres? Looks like a big plot from the picture.

That food plot looks like more acreage than I own.

The property is 47 acres, 35-40 of it is the crop field. The farmer that leases the field makes me a new plot every year, which is awesome since I have nothing invested in it. He was rotating corn/beans, but it’s been beans the last 5 years. I have access to the adjoining 22 as well that is all woods with a small pond. I just got that 22 acres last turkey season, I put a camera up in the thick area and that’s the highway. Only issue it’s mainly cedar trees and makes it hard to find a spot to cut in lanes. I do plan on making that my focus area, I just need to get in there and get a few spots cleaned up.
You can literally scan the beam fields in the fall without touching the field from there. I believe that’s how the big bucks are checking the fields without exposing themselves. I’m always 60-100 yards from connecting with the “big” buck each year, I need to get a little deeper to cut the routes off.
The fields are tough, I either need to be out an extra hour earlier than I usually go, they are always hanging out just off the fields as I walk in at 0400. I get busted walking in a lot.
It’s been a challenge, but this new 22 acres is going to be a huge advantage if I can get in quietly.

This is what I’m working with, the yellow spot is the new area and the cedar thicket, that’s where I need to be.

I have two cameras out and I am getting pictures of possible bruisers. If I can, I will post the new pictures soon.

Brett, if you’re trying to post pics from your phone I always have that problem too.

I use the Tapatalk app to upload pics using my phone in the field.

Just for kicks I went back through the team thread and stumbled across this from back in September.

I got a text from an old Navy buddy of mine who had a 40 acre section of woods near Iberia, Missouri. I hunted that property with him once years ago during the early season when not much was moving.

He wanted me to know that he had just bought the adjacent 40 acres and that I could hunt it anytime I wanted.

He also said that the new property had 30 amp and 50 amp hookups for the travel trailer.

I think now I have more places to hunt than I can even get to.

Like Steve said, the winning team members are automatically signed up for the next years contest. No need to bother with the sign up thread this year.

It’ll be a first for me.

Since we all got new trucks last year for winning when we defend the title this year maybe it will be a boat or a side by side?

The deer cameras are full of velvet bucks and wandering does...
I've signed up to win the air boat this year...the new truck we all won last year can pull it.
