My last day of work today then I’m off for the next 8 days. I should have built an ark for all the rain we are getting right now. I don’t know if I’m more excited about getting out to go hunting or getting out of my next 2 Wednesday meetings. They last more than some of my sits in the woods. We beat the dead horse for 3+ hours every Wednesday. Saturday night came down with a head and chest cold but feeling a little better now. Should be good to go for the am sit. Good luck team.

Update for the suspected construction guy that trespassed:

Landowners reached out to the construction owner I got pictures of all over. His first response claimed he did nothing and knew the lines as it was surveyed.

I promptly called his BS, included a map with measurements of the path he took and included six photos of the over thirty I had and basically said "Look I'm not trying to be a ****, I am purely asking for full disclosure as to why known and marked property lines were ignored completely, as the owner of the land which was trespassed on I deserve that much. I said let's meet, I can be anywhere in the county in the next 30-40 minutes just say where to discuss this.

Minutes later full recanted email - fully admitting he ignored signs and postings, didn't attempt to get in touch with me and apologized fully.

Why honesty is so incredibly difficult for folks to give, when it is free is beyond me.

Now the real person of concern needs identified and charges filed for all his visits and theft.

Ty glad you got one trespasser caught, hope your other trespasser gets caught soon.

Finally got a doe. I can still shoot a compound ok, just a little problem with it. I have to take my glasses off or the pins are blurry. That's my excuse for shooting a small doe (fawn). It's no big deal my farm is over populated with deer and need to get thinned out.
I center punched her just went 50 yards. I'm always happy when the shot is good.

It's up to you guys now! IMG_1718.JPG

Lots off deer out feeding last night on the way home at 1am. I’ll be hunting bedding in a half hour. No hurry to get there.

Gonna be taking afternoon off to hit a stand. Need a break from everything - low expectations but we will see, anything can happen.

I had a pretty nice buck walk by me out of range just after first light.

Pretty sure it was the 8 I’ve got on camera. Not sure I’d have shot a buck that would be lucky to go 110” this early even if he had been in range.

Well folks, big update from last night on the scareface/thief:

So my cousin in law offered to share the pictures of scarface/thief on facebook, my wife was scared to as she doesn't want anyone being able to explore my profile, discover what our house looks like, son looks like, where we all work and such. Cousin lives a few towns over....so she posts it and instantly is attacked in her private messages from a girl named Lexie Bennett - just going nuts and started bringing cousin in law's son into the messages. She blocked her and then deleted the post.

Well weeks removed from initial discussions with ICO who wanted to handle the case and no neighbor's recognizing the person or seeing anything strange...last night I created a fake profile and posted in all the local garage sale and neighborhood pages on Facebook hoping just one good person would see and immediately bring a name up.

It happened and someone from a local resale shop recognized the person due to the scare and face immediately. Eric Bennett was the name.....and I immediately thought back to that Lexie girl. Well after some searching Lexie has a brother Eric Bennett and a dad Eric Bennett. Both with LONG histories of court cases meth, drugs, infractions, criminal trespass and the dad even has a felony with deadly weapon....

The son is in jail presently, while the dad has some outstanding court cases due soon it appears. So have turned over all the links to profiles, few photos that confirm Eric as the scarface man and any court case numbers we (the girl that messaged me spent over two hours with me online back and forth sharing anything and everything we found).

SO a massive lead is found...now we continue to wait and hope law can find him...as he doesn't appear to own real estate or have a job.

Glad to hear one block is checked off, hopefully there is a conclusion about the other D-bag.

    Great! Well done Rick!

I need remind myself talk to the team. So, as for myself, I think I've worked myself out and I'm back in the swing of things. I hit the stand last night, nothing but one deer and I couldn't even tell if it was a buck or doe, it was on a mission to get somewhere.
My "hotspot" has been dead the past week, all the spot I would expect to see scrapes are lacking. The few scrapes on the field edges are not being used, it's a weird time right now. I was going to get out this afternoon but I have to sit at the Harley dealer to finish servicing my bike this afternoon, I'm still trying to work out another avenue to get home, maybe convince them to let me take a loaner home overnight. If I do get out, I'm hitting the top side field edge where I usually see doe run in/out.
Rain is forecasted up to Saturday, but we are closed for youth weekend. After that, muzzleloader is open and is usually when I get my first buck of the year.
Good luck to all, hopefully I can start slinging arrows soon.

I really hope they catch that thief and prosecute him.

Good luck when you head out Ty.

Either Monday or Tuesday I’ll be towing the travel trailer to Mark Twain National Forest. I have high hopes for next week.

Eric (Ridgerunner3) will be joining me Wednesday or Thursday for a few days.

I’ll do my best not to shoot another half rack buck this season.

I just got this pic via text. This is the buck I shot a few weeks ago and didn’t kill.

It’s the first time he’s shown up on camera.

He is a bigger bodied deer than the one I killed in 2019.

Feeling good. Two bucks were killable just the 17th and 23rd basically from this stand. The guy edited photo of the buck looking straight on (sun glare) is 28 yards from tree there snd the other is a buck that got hit by a car back in 2016 and somehow on three legs has defied odds and lived. His picture one of many was maybe 80 yards or so south of stand.

    fingers crossed fellas
