Man I wish Wisconsin would bump up to do a velvet season. We are soooooooooooo dang close with some shooting some velvet deer, but would love to see our state become a destination velvet state (if prices would increase that is for non-res)

How much are non-resident tags there? Everywhere I hunt out of state I practically get robbed.

Right now we are at $160.00 for our deer tags, and there is talk to increasing our resident tags rather than non-resident.

I looked it up to clarify. At first I thought that was pretty cheap but they do it like Missouri does. If you want to bow hunt and gun hunt you pay twice.

Arkansas ($360) and Kentucky ($290) only charge one price for both.

Here in Missouri non-resident tags were $250 for archery and another $250 for a gun tag.

I can’t believe Missouri costs so much more than Wisconsin.

Somehow I missed this post. Good luck and be safe.

Oh, and shoot a monster. We’ll just call it a preemptive strike on the other teams.

No, I’m not scared, and 10 hours isn’t a bad drive at all.

I don’t want to post it again but if you go to page 68 of this thread and go about halfway down you’ll see why I’m hesitant to travel to hunt right now.

I really do appreciate the offer and I even discussed it with my wife last night.

Sorry for going MIA fellas started feeling bad the 7th and was quickly living in a guest room on a cot in isolation from family with suspected Covid. Fever was sustained over 104 at times for hours and I could barely move without being exhausted…bathroom was right next door and I was so tired I sat to pee lol

well wife is down now with confirmed tested Covid with similar issues and I’m playing single father.

however few good items of news deer wise is got the non pure brassica plots at my place planted today as grandma watched little man. Also Pops did buy that 27 acre riverbottom property I shared a while back, they closed on it yesterday! We have logger coming ASAP and 2022 season will be the main goal but I’m sure we hunt it some this year too.

As for bucks I don’t have any giants I’m chasing but Highrise should push 150+ and Vilkas lived so he should make a serious jump from an already 140ish frame. Few other solid deer for my area are confirmed alive and well on few other properties too.

Glad you’re feeling better Ty and I’m sorry your wife has it now. I hope she feels better soon.

I’m really glad to hear that you got the property you had talked about.

I don’t suppose you have any idea what kind of deer the new property holds do you?

    I appreciate it.

I’m still trying to figure out what I’ll do if they say I can’t have the surgery right away.

Since I somehow didn’t know what was wrong I’ve been doing my normal routine for months with this. If they try to tell me they can work me in sometime in October I’ll probably say no and have them schedule it for January or February. I ordered a hernia belt just for this and I don’t know why I couldn’t use it to climb.

Heck, I’ve been climbing up on my four wheeler rack and hoisting 50 pound bags of corn up over my head to dump into the one feeder I have to keep inventory during the off season.

i am familiar through a few hunting friends of what is in the area. The massive riverbottom section around this tiny town holds big deer due to it. We’re excited but know trespassing may be an issue till locals figure out new ownership. Also gotta go meet a neighbor that the owner said had a problem thinking the place was theirs as they own like 125 acres to north. Fingers crossed we get a friend and not an enemy

Wow teams having health problems, Ty hope you and your wife make a fast and complete recovery.

Wife started feeling sick yesterday, went to clinic today, she has covid. She's doing ok nothing serious so far, not even a fever, mostly headache and tired. She had the single vaccine I had the double one, hoping I don't get it.
