It's entered. We're in second place until Josh Keller on team 1 enters his buck score. Then we'll go back down to third.

Steve, I did make one edit to your entry post: I changed the .75 to 6/8" for the benefit of any mathematically challenged members that see the entry.

No problem, I can't add fractions on a calculator so I made them decimals.

As an update, I don't know why a bunch on nonsense hit all at once, but I've swamped with stupid stuff lately. I was going to head out yesterday evening but I had leaves to handle at the house, plus it was still a bit warm. I may get out this evening, if not, Ill be out Friday evening or Saturday afternoon after T-ball. I may even try and hunt one of these cool mornings; quite frankly, I've enjoyed not setting a 0330 alarm clock yet.
Now that the cool is coming back, I may head into the woods rather than wait on dinner time in the field; the field is hot though, I have been covered up in deer, usually about 10 yards out range, but I'm seeing a good population to eat. I really want to get on that scrape line by the pond and see if any scrapes have opened back up. I've seen a few around the bean edges, but have avoided sweating through the woods.

Ozonics: I am a believer, it is weird, but it "appears" to work. Two doe last week down stream stopped and gave me a perfect shot, and I was sweating like pig before I got into the stand. The buck I shot smelled, stopped, took a few sniffs and went about his business.

Still working on planning my Illinois trip, maybe next week or just before Halloween.

    Cheers folks!

Even though I have mostly been relaxing today I did have quite a bit to keep me busy. I spent about an hour total trying to help a member get his buck scored correctly. It's still not done correctly, but now he has the correct instructions and format.

Also, my shrink tubing came in today and I re-coated the cables on two Summit Vipers. That should make tomorrows climb easier. I should say if it happens. I'm still feeling a little poorly. Strange would be a better word for it, but it may just be the lack of sleep.

On another note, one odd thing about taking on the Moderator job is that suddenly everyone thinks I have all the answers when I don't. I do, however, "know a fella" or two. It's like being back in the Navy. When someone asks you a question that you don't know the answer to. The correct response is never "I don't know." It's "Let me find out for you.".

Not one to set the same stand (especially this one) again only days later but that stand I passed the buck on Saturday is screaming to hunt it. Corn last I knew is still in there, entrance is golden, wind is quartering into them as the use that entrance but unless they come from behind (which does did last time and didn't show a sign of detecting) they have no chance on me. Pressure rising, temps dropping....gonna go give a go. Told boss I'm out early and gonna try to hit stand as soon as able without rushing it.

I've decided if given a chance a chipshot doe again I'm nabbing it...the only known ACTIVE buck I want to shoot is supposedly dead (neighbor still hasn't confirmed death via picture and has went sketchy quiet)....we shall see what happens.

I'll try to keep you guys posted.

Change #49, wife is picking up the choreographers tomorrow afternoon (college dance coach), so this evening may be the only opportunity to hunt this weekend. I may hunt the buck stand or move into the wood line if it isn't pouring rain.
    Stand by to stand by...

Didn’t go, wife is loaded with crap to do so I’m staying in the house. Rain is pushing in quick as well, would have made a for a miserable night tracking/processing a deer anyway. Most likely will not be out this weekend, but...this kind of benefits me for late October into November for some comp time; not that she’s a hound about it.

Almost a 40degree drop in temps from now until Saturday. Going to try to drag myself out of bed tomorrow to go if it’s not raining to hard. I’ll leave work early Friday night so there will be no doubt about Saturday morning. Working overtime sucks until 2am. On a positive note I haven’t burned out my stands because i can’t get up.

For those that didn't see in the LFTS, 50 points is dead 50 yards away.

Saw it, but not until I sneaked out and got back to the house.

    Congratulations again Ty!

Congrats!!! I will do my best to fill a doe tag this weekend. I just moved a blind onto a clover field and hung a couple more cameras over lunch. I scouted a great trail to the clover and found a couple of good trees for stands that will allow for different wind directions. Looking forward to starting to hunt! Good luck this weekend to all.

Well, I'll say this much yearlings are tiny targets. LOL Landowner of ours has let us hunt purely by permission for years, we always give him a hand around the place with anything, plant trees and spend a solid amount on him for Christmas, but one thing he has always said is he loves eating yearling deer. Offered him a big buck I shot once and it was a HUGE negative. So, last few years I've shot him a yearling, usually a button buck and this year is no different. Rained after dark so no recovery footage or photos but will still count per rules allowing video entries :) all was filmed.

To early for a decoy tomorrow and some very light rattling? I’ve been out twice and have heard and seen rattling. What do you guys think?

Welp....looks like Ty pulled a bone head move fellas. Shared in the scorecard post already, but wanted to share here as well.

While harvest entries can be confirmed and count if on film, the rules clearly outlined upon rereading them that recovery must be included. Sadly, I never recorded the recovery due to it started pouring when I left truck to go get the deer after unloading gear.

Completely blew it fellas. I guess I'll have to grab my 50 points for us with two bucks (that antlerless earned me a second buck tag on my reduction zone properties) or guess shoot another antlerless - parents want one for freezer anyways with Pops not out slaughtering his normal numbers due to work.

I'd say it's perfect time. Brother was hunting one of my stands yesterday afternoon, small 10 point was grunting, making scrapes and rubs. Another buck came in grunting and the 10 point chased him off.
Seems when two bucks enter a field from different spots they usually meet up to check each other out.
Using a decoy can be a exciting way to hunt.
