    Good luck Steve.

I’m set up in Arkansas hoping for a deer to walk by.

Got a pile of crap weather moving through today and the next couple days. Might try a long sit Sunday in my old faithful spot in an area we call the brushlot. Bedding and browse. If the deer are walking the edge of it you have no shot. I’ve probably killed 10+ deer from that stand over the years.

Winds aren’t good for me coming up but gonna give it a try Saturday and chance Sunday. Tomorrow is out as no sitter for little man on day off so it’s a Dudes Day for me. If he could sit quietly and it wasn’t quite as cold I’d take him to the blind but too young yet.

I have only whitetail hunted for about 12 years. I think the biggest whitetail buck I have ever seen on the hoof is around 140ish. I about fell out of the tree then.
I grew up hunting mule deer and elk. I’ve seen elk in the 380-400 and mule deer around the 190-200. I would love to see a whitetail in the 150+ area. My in-laws that live out there have got whitetail in 150+

Not a single deer so far, might have to hold off until this weather hits.

We got 8” and counting of wet snow and lost power this morning for a bit. Just waiting till Sunday. It should be a fun walk up the hill through the snow. The spot I originally wanted to go the wind forecast doesn't look good hopefully it will change before Sunday.

I am gonna try to get out tomorrow morning but all depends on how much I get done around house. I may now be hitting my buddy’s farm Sunday with ML for doe management.

I can hunt my reduction property clear through January but once regular season closes I’ll need to put an antlerless down asap to earn a reduction zone buck tag to help us. Fingers crossed I just down a buck here in the next week

Declined muzzleload hunt for bow and the blind. Who knows how many more chances I get to try and put a buck down for us so figured I’ll give it a go.
Deer are getting edgy here and tough spot for bow but in the game and not out of it!

It isn't going to be from a lack of trying that we don't pull this out last minute...I still sense we got three or four dead deer coming from those of us with tags yet. I head to Iowa 26th for late muzzleloader hunting...I could take the bow but not going to due to the price tag on that hunt I don't feel like shortening my range that much (apologies upfront on that).

When I get back though if I don't have a buck down I'll kill a reduction zone antlerless deer pronto so I can work January on a buck of any kind.
