You're watching a football game while hunting. That should be illegal.

I don't know what the temps are where you're at Ty, but two days ago the high was 80 and the low was 62. We woke up to 3" of snow this morning and the low on the stand during the AM sit was 28 with a wind chill of 18. The actual temp tomorrow morning is forecast to be 22 but the wind is supposed to be very light.

Actually, my brother woke me up at 2:30 this morning saying the awning on the travel trailer was about to collapse. He was right. We were only supposed to get a light dusting of snow so I left the awning out. I had to get dressed and go out in it to knock the snow off the awning. The 4:15 alarm really hurt this morning, and then I got on stand and froze my butt off because I can't find my Arctic Shield boot covers. When my feet get cold nothing helps.

I have a good feeling about tomorrow morning down in my valley here in Mark Twain National Forest.

Mitch congrats on another buck! You got this bowhunting figured out.

17 degrees this morning at least the wind died down. I'll be putting heaters in my boots too this morning

Friday morning, I hunted a dense spruce swamp, just when you could start seeing had a deer in front of me. Couldn't tell if it was a small buck or doe. Heard some noise to left of me, turned my head and 30 yards away is a huge buck. Instead of staying on trail that would put him in front of me he turned and went behind me in some thick stuff. That was it for the morning hunt. I'm not having good luck this year it seems.

Good luck to team out hunting.

Getting ready to head out this morning. It’s a struggle I stayed up to late and watched some ufc fights. Need points so I am pushing on.

Well with the house flooding, wife deer collision, truck brake line going, wife sticking shrapnel in her tire and the landowner issues with grandson unraveling all within the last couple weeks not going to lie I’m shot fellas.

Yesterday sat all day and then this morning heading into church neighbor texted needed permission for retrieval - shot a buck and went on mine. I protect my place immensely from intrusion but will never stop retrieval. Hour later find out and got some pics sent only found few more spots of blood and lost it. He then asked hour later if he could go back with another person to look again…property already disrupted so whatever….they find one more spot of blood and zilch more….

Just another blow to the season and year…more of the normal. Gonna let my place sit for a while and not sure I’ll hunt this week…have to see how I feel about it all.

Went this morning and heard a couple deer moving around before light and big zero from then on.
Went to grand daughters bb party. SIL hit a buck 9 that morning tracked it short distance jumped it so backed out. I left at 2 to go home to hunt. Heard later they found it. Getting late by the time I got home, just headed north of my house to hunt food plot. Four does and biggest buck I have pictures of came into pasture maybe 150 yards away. Fawn came out by my stand and the buck came over to check it out. Walked by me at 35 yards and I mmmmissed right under him. Been like six years since I've missed one. He didn't spook much just ran into pasture with the does stayed there awhile then back into plot further away. Used the grunt call after the miss and had 8 point come in just out of range. My bad luck continues this year.

    Good luck to team hunting!

Ty I sure wish you some good luck. Man having to do with accidents, breakdowns, house repairs and trouble with your hunting land is a lot to deal with at one time. Just try to do your best.

Some people have it easier than others hunting. My SIL has a great area to hunt and a super funnel stand. Sat. he hunted most of the day and saw 10 different bucks. I think his record is 14 bucks in one day. Yesterday when I left his house, in least than a 1/2 mile saw around a dozen deer and 4 bucks.

Now is the time of year to not worry about pressure. The buck you kill could spend most of his life a mile or more away. When the chase is on, nothing keeps them from passing your stands. It would not bother me one bit to go climb into a stand where an army of guys had just walked through. Don't let that keep you from hunting.

He is still here. It has been kind of slow for him with a lot of heavy winds and very warm weather at the start of his trip. That being said, he has passed up a couple of bucks that most guys would put on the wall. Today is perfect with a front moving in and I have my fingers crossed for him. I saw several really nice bucks cruising last evening on my way home from seeing Joe Bonamassa in Des Moines. They are on their feet most of the day right now.

I don't doubt he's seeing some deer and some good ones - but he's been waiting a long time I can get the "not quite THE deer" though.

I wont be hunting until later in the season. I will kill at least a couple of does for meat. But we need another buck or two to put this thing away.

I agree, and I still sense we got one or two more coming to the team...however I don't necessarily believe it will be me. That said I did tell Pops as late season hits and it truly gets frigid I won't be too ashamed to grab his crossbow when I don't want to pull a vertical bow back :)

I also have a TON of young bucks on my urban place, if I have to I'll burn a tag on a 60-90 incher if it means we get to ride another year :) No shame in my game!
