The rain should be ending about 11:00 pm and the temps will be dropping. I’ll be on stand tomorrow morning to try to kill another doe.

Brett, you asked about November 30th through December 3rd. Like I said, the National Forest will be tough. It'll be after gun season and it'll also be a time when deer probably won't be moving that great so there is a good chance you'd travel all the way and see nothing to shoot at.

With that in mind, I did push the envelope a bit and I asked the farmer whose land I hunt in Kentucky if I could bring you there. He said it would be fine. He said they have friends in Nebraska and that they like Nebraska.

I don't know if you want to travel all the way from Nebraska to hunt farmland instead of the National Forest, but if you want to the option is on the table. I just couldn't let you know until I had permission.

    So, what do you think?

I hear you on needing more snow. Our winters have been way too mild which has let our ground water table get pretty low. Need a good winter recharging, plus helps keep my deer more herded up with always makes for a better shed season :)

Sorry I have been missing while on my Missouri trip. It has been a trip full of heat, rain, and a big whoops on my part last night. After 19 years of bow hunting I finally messed up on a buck. After tracking over 1000 yards this morning we pulled out of the track. I knew it was low odds as I hit a deer in the shoulder at 35 yards. But I went out tonight and was able to reflect on last night and ended up getting to pull the trigger on my release again and redeem myself.

It probably will not come tonight but I will give you guys the full story tomorrow as I put on my apron and become camp b****. Image1666826822.303038.jpg

    Congrats @MIHOYT89 !!

I'll be out in the morning and with so much other tasks calling my name it will be interesting to see one if anything moves at my place...I've purposefully avoided having my cameras checked and some are even dead since September I know...but if you don't have pictures of trespassers you cannot be irate and honestly become a problem for the family and people at work LOL

AND curious to see what caliber of buck in the moment tomorrow would make me sling an arrow. I will admit I think I might have looser standards than ever before, for multitude of reasons...time is good and the wind is perfect for this spot - fingers crossed.

Congrats on the buck MIHOYT looks like a perfect shot. Good luck in the morning tynimiller. I’ll be on stand with you. Coffee pot is set for 4am should be set up by 530 at the latest. I have my tree picked out already and the climber is packed up. We have quite a front going through tonight so we will have cooler temps the next couple of days.

i cannot shoot till 739, and I’m not gonna film my hunt I think so I won’t be in a rush, very short entrance, but got about a half hour drive to spot so I’ll be sleeping in till roughly 530.

Good luck to you!!! Be awesome if someone or multiple of us put something down!!

ALRIGHT! We will be well represented tomorrow morning.

As for me, I’ll be processing the doe that’s in the fridge and dehydrating some jerky.

I won’t get back on stand until I get to camp in Mark Twain National Forest on Monday.

I’m at an even half dozen right now. I’m working on my own production of Bambi on Ice.

    Nothing tonight
Two squirrels or the same squirrel twice
    And a bunny
Then the 10% chance of rain became a gully washer…but I sat it out as I thought the deer would move once the rain stopped
    Rain stopped & no deer
Rain started again during the walk out
Got home…wife has the flu with 102° fever
Looks like I’m sleeping upstairs again & this time I didn’t even get yelled at
