Congrats to you a personal level. But, on behalf of the other teams in the contest; son of bisquick! If you guys hold on to win the contest this year, a renaming of the team to the "The Untouchables" may be in order.

Does your neighbor know you killed his horse? That thing is a tank!

Congrats on a very cool buck Zach!

Well had an awesome morning in the woods, the stand I hit was low expectations and saw a lot of deer….and mature doe gave me a shot at 21…that’s when my bad mojo continues.

I’ve replayed the shot over and over and I am now about as sure as I could be of what happened.
Doe was quartering away slightly, head to the left. Leaned at waist and let pin drift to behind shoulder on entrance side BREAKING THE CARDINAL RULE OF BOWHUNTING - Aim for the exit.

Long story short even a dog couldn’t locate this one…I went home and confirmed not my bow, shot ten rings nearly the entire time at all distances. Shot that thing till my arms were starting to fatigue…will do more tomorrow (all broadhead practice like normal) I have to be confident on next live draw.

Twenty plus years before this year and only two deer I never recovered….this bad year can go away.

Must be bad shot week, thurs. morning coyote gave me a shot. Hair on broad head no blood or meat. Ticks me off whenever I miss easy chance at killing coyotes.

Let’s lick our wounds - and get back at there and do what we do!!

I’ve shot over a hundred arrows yesterday and today already just to build up that unflapping confidence I had

You know that I know it sucks Ty. I’d hate for anyone to have to go through the season I had last year. That was tough, especially since the first hit with no recovery was a buck of a lifetime for me. It had me second guessing myself every time I drew my bow on a deer and I did terrible.

You know you can’t let it get you down though.

This year things have turned around and I’m shooting much better from the stand.

Yeah, and where did Zach get to? Where are those pics and the story?

My granddaughter this morning got her first buck. We always try and get up there the day before the hunt and scout and try to locate deer. We spotted two little groups of bucks yesterday. We were hoping to find those two Big bucks we saw on the bow hunt. They never showed up at any of the areas we had seen them in. Anyway both groups of bucks we had found yesterday we’re about a mile and a half to 2 miles off the beaten path. So we devised a plan for the next morning. So this morning we woke up went to a drainage over from where we had seen the deer so we could walk down and go up on top of the ridge and hopefully come down around so they wouldn’t wind us. We made it about 400 to 500 yards down the drainage when it got light enough to see. Those bucks were just above us just below the ridge. They were feeding going back the direction where the truck was. They were around 280 yards away. My granddaughter only feels comfortable out 150 yards. So I sat back and kept tabs on the deer while my son and granddaughter put the sneak on them. It was so cool to see this unfold. The deer stopped in some Quakies my son and granddaughter got within 80 yards of them. She had a 2 foot opening in the trees where the deer were coming through. This buck stopped in between that opening and she drilled him. One shot and he was down. I was shocked you guys that live back east didn’t hear me whooping and hollering. It was just a very great exciting moment. We hugged each other and thanked God for the animal. The most touching thing was my son. He is my second son he was always my rough and tough boy. He’s also a combat veteran. He broke down and held his daughter and cried. I may have shed a tear two but I won’t admit it:biggrin:. It was just a great hunt

Looks like there is going to be SE wind tomorrow that turns fully East. I think I have a stand that should work for that. Going to bed early tonight so I’ll have no excuse not to get up tomorrow. Put up 3 cameras tonight by the small property by my house by the land owners request. Someone has been raising hell down there in a side by side. I think I have an idea who it is but hopefully the camera will prove it.
