We are supposed to get close to 1 1/2 inches of rain Thursday with some thunderstorms until around 5am Friday morning. I’m going to do my best to get out Friday morning. I have a couple spots I’ve left alone so far trying to stay out of there as long as possible but that looks like an excellent day to be out for a couple hours.

Cold front here too...wife is getting back to healthy so fingers crossed I'll make something happen this weekend (Fri-Sun). Cold front hits Thursday....the question will be do I like conditions well enough to push for a buck or do I go kill a slick...

Cold front hitting here as well with rain up through Friday. Have planned to go out tonight if not raining much, and then again on Friday. Have a wedding and my son's birthday party this weekend so that's out. Better times are around the corner though!

Just got word the owner of the one piece we do all the food plots, work and plant trees for is letting someone else hunt there tonight......too much to write and I'm not happy at the moment....just another issue for another year....seems never ending for me and honestly is why I have for years now had less and less happiness in hunting...

That's a bummer! Honestly not even that someone else could shoot a deer, but that they are waltzing into using all of your hard work. Sorry Ty!

    Man, that sucks Ty.

If it were me I would be there on the best stand before the other folks showed up. It would protect your spot and maybe they would bump a big one to you.

Ty I know how you feel to a point. The family farm went from 700 acres down to 80 acres. We lost the one area where we see the bigger bucks. The one stand we see the most deer on is still on the farm.

Some land owners have no idea at all. They see deer all the time and figure there are plenty to go around and everyone can hunt. Others simply don't care how much time or effort you put in to make hunting better. Hope it gets resolved in your favor. We really need some deer from you this season.

Brother I'm speechless and numb honestly. It's been a slope we've seen coming as we went from full season permission, to only archery before and after firearms...now just early archery for a couple seasons....now encroachment further even. It's not our ground, the owner is our friend, but we have been the only respectful party involved and do TONS of work which he and now others are reaping from. Sharing a place is whatever (although we are the only serious (wind/locale and such) hunters at all) and I'd do it but this has now been about 7 years of in season crap changing on promises and claims.

I despise doing this to a friend but a sit down discussion has to happen after this year. He needs to say one way or another what is going to occur and how much permission we have and how much he is going to let his grandsons' friend and grandson just run over it all...yes that is why we've never made it a thing all these years because it is his grandson....that flicks off our cameras (but wants pictures shared), hangs a stand right on a plot we installed), drove his four wheeler and jeep through our food plot destroying swaths of it....just the tip of the list.

Sadly grandpa/friend and owner continually has allowed the grandson to do all these things while we have planted apple trees for him every year, slowly building an orchard for him, helped around the farm when he needs it, mowed and kept all his ag trails open for him to ride his gator around on, done food plots for him and his wife as well if they hunt, helped keep no trespassing signs up, installed fences for him (the old hand driven T post style...damn that was a job).....and more....grandson has showed up for ten minutes once to help.

Sorry just venting and doesn't matter to anyone else. I am just 100% done with in season shifts of promises and permissions after we have spent hundreds of dollars on seed, fertilizer ($300+ alone this year for here), gas and days prepping....just tell us what you are going to allow and not allow - even if that is a free for all involved...we then can decide how much of an investment we want to do moving forward BEFORE the disrespectful move of changing things happens.

My camera sent me several pictures of my Muddy ground blind being caught by the wind. Thankfully it’s only a 12 minute drive & I got it secured (using larger & stronger stakes). To rips, tears or breakage,
Glad I used a cellular camera vs a traditional SD card camera. Prolly saved me

    Ty…,that sucks
I lost 17 acres this year which I have hunted for the past 8 years
A family feud within the owner got me tossed. The non hunting side of the family won & I was told to pull my stand.

Well Ty, more than likely you are losing that battle. Grandson will be the winner unfortunately. That really sucks. I have seen it play out so many times around here. Putting a lot of heart and soul into ground you do not own or have a solid lease on is always risking heartbreak. Maybe ask grandpa how much his grandson and friends are willing to chip in next year for seed and fuel and your point will be made. Or, walk away and it wont take but a year or two for grandpa to see how fast his farm will go to crap without all the extra effort and you might get invited back. Good luck.
