Out of curiosity.... what is/are everyone's bucket list hunt(s)?

I will be going on my first of my bucket list hunts this year which is a American Bison, then after that I am torn between Moose and Caribou (gonna be a long time money saving before that happens though).

Not that long. I’ll probably go home Thursday or Friday.

If I don’t kill a deer this trip I may or may not make another short trip at the end of the month.

I have to admit I’m getting kind of tired of hunting. I need to go bass fishing.

I would like to do a grizzly or moose hunt but after the way I shot this year I could imagine shooting a grizzly in the ass and the outcome of that.

I want to do a coastal bear hunt in Alaska. More for the scenery and experience than the bear.

I am so thankful that I hunted caribou a couple of times several years ago. I killed a beautiful bull out of the Leaf River herd on the Ungava Peninsula by Hudson Bay. Now, that herd has less than 200k animals and when I was there it was over 700k head. Hunting is not allowed now and they don't even know why they are disappearing. My guess would be the natives that like to kill them from their snowmachines on the wintering grounds in the South. But, that is not politically correct so it is never mentioned.

Morning fellas, got a little poll for you.
My wife has mentioned that for my 40th B-day, she is going to send me on a hunt, at first, Elk is mentioned, but quite frankly, I've seen a lot of folks fail at this task. So, I'd like to know, what's a fun trip hunting trip to spend about a week at? I've thought about hogs, mule deer, jackalope/sasquatch?
My main thing is just to have fun, but I'd like to take something home. As I've mentioned with deer hunting, I like the scouting/walking/watching part a lot. I want the away from reality experience, and get some fresh air.

For starters, I need to get my ruck out and start marching/hiking, I'm not as in shape as I was years ago. Then, figure out the small "camp" details.

Nothing is set in stone, just need some ideas to look at.

Elk is definitely on my list as well... Working on building up my Wyoming points for that one. May dabble in some DIY Colorado Elk one of these years though before I get enough Wyoming points.

I feel like when that feeling comes over a hunter it is because you put in the right amount of time. Too many years I didn't feel wore out from hunting, and those are the years I either had too much on my plate or just didn't get out enough.

Honestly I think it all comes down to budget, what points you have in your bank per state, and what time of year you want to hunt. My brother in law goes out mulie hunting every year in Nebraska during muzzleloader and loves it, on the other hand my father in law is addicted to early season elk hunting. To each their own, but first dive into what, when, and how prepared you are both physically and equipment wise

Reference elk hunts...I have been on three hunts. Sucessful on two, one with a bow.
Refernence bear hunts...I have been on four hunts and scored once (all bow hunts).
Reference hog hunts...Only once in Texas and we sucked at it until the landowner showed us how to hunt at night from a moving truck at 30 mph in a wheat field...then we took nine that night.
I would like to try an Antolope hunt in Wyoming next or join LC in Missouri

That sounds like fun, must be a challenge to hit one bouncing around in a field.

    I’d have to say

    1. Elk
    2. Moose
    3. Sika on the East Coast

I’d love to do a big horn but that’s only if I ever win the lottery

I bet you’d love an open Sandhills antelope/mule deer spot and stalk mostly because of what you’ve said you like most.

I have been lucky enough to live where we can hunt elk every year. I have had the opportunity to hunt antelope. I have been putting in for moose for 21 years here at home. I hope to draw out before I hit 70
