I am so tired. I still need to eat something.

Part of me can’t believe I’m going to go out again in the morning and part of me is excited to get in one more sit this trip.

    Great job Chief
Although I have not put points on the board (yet) I’m so honored to be part of this team. If we are able to repeat…which it sounds like you all have done…so pleased to be of team 12. No other team would have offered up bows to use after the sh*t storm on November 8th in Denver…you guys are the best.
Although I missed 4 weeks of hunting because of…Clear Archery in PA had this new bow to me in 3 days…
I will be retired by the 2022 season & I plan on hunting a ton
Again…thanks all for a wonderful season
I will do my best tomorrow

Congrats Johnny! Great job of hunting to not spook those bucks out of that area. Surprised me the buck made it that far with that shot.

With the cold weather I was indoors a lot, kept checking on your hunts on the LFTS thread. Got a good laugh about your bike under the stand and the does.

Like I said, I didn’t want to gut it to find out, but I think I probably only got the left lung . The big cut 4 blade mechanical made a difference I think.

Also, he was really hauling when he ran after the shot. I’ve never seen a deer run that fast.

As to the bike incident, hey, it almost worked. That doe was determined to find out what that weird thing in the ground was. It really was funny.

I appreciate it, but my season isn't over yet. I'm going back to Arkansas in a week to get after that big buck. I've got him pegged now but I wasn't going to pass on the smaller one when he walked in.

The Arkansas season runs through 28 February, but this next trip will most likely be my last go at it.

Thanks. I felt our repeat was in jeopardy so I got serious.

 Like I haven't been serious all season. I just got lucky.

    Well
This morning at 0749 was a fork buck but I was hopeful
The same fork buck returned at 1044 so I went home for lunch
This evening the same fork buck was there at 1749
Not a single doe all day
I ate tag soup this year minus rifle season
Thank goodness for all all of you guys

It's okay Brett. It happens to us all sometimes. I'm pretty sure that in 2016 I didn't kill a single deer with my bow and I didn't have my bow and all my gear stolen. I just sucked that year.

Unless something spectacular happens on team 15 or team 4 and providing someone hasn't been sandbagging I think we have this repeat thing nailed down.

Sounds like my season Brett. I felt like the 12th man on a basketball team that dosent get any playing time.

:bow:I wanted to thank everybody again for another great season. We have a great team here.
Brett there’s no worry on not getting a deer on my part anyway. Where I live we only draw a deer tag about every other year. With that said I only harvested a deer maybe half the time. I have been lucky to have The family Farm in Kansas (That is on my wife side). There’s been a few years all I have gotten is a doe.
I want to thank LC for being over the contest. It is really nice to have your scores updated on a regular basis. Plus starting us off and ending as well.
It would be sweet to have a 3pete in our future:deer:

lol You both are golden, no worries - you'll never get the ribbing Fletch will! Looks like this just means 2022 will be your year more than ever for the team!

I was curious our breakdown this year vs last year here are some observations and I compiled points per person over the last two years - this team is incredible, so so many have contributed, BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY EVERYONE IS ACTIVE ON THE THREAD!!

2020 - We scored 1,318 6/8s, our bucks totaled 918 6/8 or 69.7% of our points came from qualifying bucks.
2021 - We scored 1,054 1/8, our bucks totaled 754 1/8 or 71.5% of our points came from qualifying bucks.

Our team's total points contributing over the years - kudos to our fearless Captain @MIHOYT89 providing the most points - but also massive kudos to @LittleChief , @farmer rick , @S.McArthur along with our captain being the ONLY four to provide two deer each contest for the team so far!

I appreciate it. Running the contest isn’t really a challenge once the teams are established. I entered a ton of the deer on the scorecard sitting in my stand.

The only hard part about that is doing the math in my head

LC comes through clutch!!!! That may be the cushion that saves me from a lifetime of shame and constant ridicule from TY.

Honestly, my fingers are crossed tightly in hopes that we hang onto a victory so that I don't have to feel guilty about being a zero.

It's okay Ty, I can take what I deserve until I get points put up for us next year. I will challenge you now to who puts up the most points for 2022-23 season brother!

Huge congrats to LC! Even though I did not get to hunt much, I certainly had a great time keeping up with the rest of you on the thread. What a great year and great group. I really look forward to working by appointment only for the rest of my life and leaving plenty of appointments open for hunting!

Here are a few pics that Bubba Wilkins took when we recovered the buck.

I already posted the last one in the LFTS thread but it’s my favorite. Bubba did a good job getting the flag in the background. We put the flag out when someone is at the cabin, and it's a flag that I got from one of the ships I was on.

LOL I only do it because I know you're a good sport! Notice I stopped ribbing Zach after a bit

I really want to bet on myself here, but having more time on your hands, on your farms - seems like a fools' venture. BUT I'm more than willing because it would definitely help the team if you put up big points so win even if I lose! What should the spoils the victor get be? Perhaps let the team come up with ideas if you don't have any?
