Those cold bow hunts for some reason are special. I don't want to make them a regular thing, but one or two of those frigid (snow crunching) bowhunts a year are good for the soul.

Looks like rain here for the next 4 days. Not what I was hoping for.

I don’t have a crossbow to take but I will probably take my Heli-m out instead of my V3.

The Heli-m has an easy draw cycle and is only set at 60#. Those two factors combined with how light it is makes it feel like I’m drawing a kids bow when I shoot it now.

Definitely peaceful, but man the cold is getting tougher to deal with each year haha. Mainly its my damn feet. Trying to find a better pair of boots or sock warmers for that issue.

Honestly, hate hauling them but they roll up decent, boot shields by multiple companies and a hand warmer are hunt changing for late seasons. My dad is a diabetic and swear by them. When extra cold he uses his heater body suit...I'm not quite there yet but I do have some Arctic Shields I believe is the brand of my boot covers.

My wife got heated insoles that really do a nice job. She gets cold feet in July and thinks the insoles are great! lol

I also got a heated vest that does a fantastic job of keeping me warm on the coldest days.

This technology is becoming more and more affordable every year it seems. Kinda like action cameras, honestly know especially for fixed filming you can get 4K action cams for cheap that do amazing for still footage....these vests if you watch can now be had for sub $100 on sale from places with good reviews. They are a planned request for my birthday in April given my late season hunt in Iowa next year.

I have both a heated vest and a Milwaukee heated jacket. Both have come in handy for late season hunts, especially those late season muzzleloader hunts... hint hint Ty lol. The boot blankets are definitely nice, but you are right that they are a bit bulky to carry to stand. I ordered some heated socks so gonna see how those work. Speaking of warmth I got some BoneView electric handwarmers this year, and those are some of the best money spent in a while!

    Happy New Year guys!

So, the cold front is finally moving in. It’s still warm here and we will have thunderstorms and rain all day today, but tomorrow morning it’s supposed to get down to 23 degrees and it will drop to 17 degrees Monday morning.

Im going to hunt here on my home place tomorrow through Tuesday for another doe or two or maybe even a buck if I get very lucky. At this point, ANY buck that shows up here gets an arrow sent at it.

Thursday or Friday I plan to head to Arkansas and start getting after those deer. I have until the end of February to hunt there.

My season has ended with a bust. I was able to get out twice this past week. The conditions were not favorable, warm and rainy both days. One day I sat on a small piece of property owned by my church which has had some good day movement according to the camera I have there. Unfortunately all that I saw was a dad and his kids walking around who were not supposed to be there. The other sit was near some bedding, which allowed me to see some does but not close enough to shoot.

No deer but catching 4 turkeys in flight I thought was impressive

That’s great! For some reason I’m always amazed when I see turkeys fly.

Anyone been out? I have two reduction zone properties so my season isn’t over like most of Indiana quite yet. Like to get one more freezer filler down
