My late season opened up today buddy. I have from now until Jan 10th to get it done. I will be out quite a bit over the holidays and do my very best to put some deer on the ground. I will even score mine right away because it takes a whole 5 minutes to do.

Yep, same here. Or even a doe maybe. It’s just like when I get an alert saying you’ve posted and I think it’s you saying you’ve posted your score.

Thanks Fletch, 75% of what we have here are trout. That’ll be fun in your pond. You should have some good pan size fish. Most of my grandkids love to go ice fishing with us. That might be because we have a lot of treats:lol: I know I have said this before but I’m very blessed because my sons like to go hunting and fishing with their Dad. We camp a handful of times in the summer and I love to do that with us to. This Thursday me and my son and his daughter my granddaughter are going to go duck hunting

I was able to sneak out last night for a couple hours after work and put another one in the freezer which makes 6 this year. Just doing my best to try to keep up with the legend himself!

    Ouch!! lol

I can be a very frustrating team member no doubt. I can bring you a 180 inch buck, or I can spend an entire season passing bucks that most guys would put on the wall. I will tell you this, I will shoot just about any decent buck at this point to help us get points on the board and I still guarantee you a doe.

I'm trying to get out, been so dang busy, I need one of those jobs where I go hunt and get paid to do it...or sit on the couch and get paid...or sit on the beach with a margarita and get paid.
Good luck to those still after it.

I'm calling it a season, I had time to get out yesterday but just couldn't muster the effort. So, when I get home from work, I'm cleaning out my truck and putting back into "non-hunting" mode...which means its clean and not full of mud/leaves/sticks/etc..
It's bittersweet but I think I'm ready to put this year behind me and move on, plus the weather is supposed to be 60s the next week, I'm over that as well. I, along with everyone else, wants some cold-ass weather to hunt in.

Nothing more than an update, I'm not leaving the thread, we still have some time left.

I know what you mean, but you’ve had a great season Steve, much better than mine.

I will say, my theory of not putting cameras out sucks, I think it's better to have a "target" buck that keeps you thinking there's a chance. On the other hand, I did more moving around this year than previously, so I found some good intel for scouting and setting up for next year. Now I just need to see of the 22 acres is going to sell, that'll put me down to the 45 field acres and things get a little harder, I don't think it will sell, they want $18k/acre for land you can't build on, or, you need to put in a looooooong driveway through a flood field to the build site. I told the guy I'd buy it last year, but my offer was for $2000/acre. There's literally one spot to build and it's full of junk cars and no electric run to it, plus the driveway issue.

I'm calling it now, I'm putting a 150" on the wall next season.
