So you caught me! lol. Honestly, the gun season around here just drives me a little crazy, so we spent 8 days in the Riviera Maya. Just got home late last night. We stayed at the Unico 20*87*. It may be the nicest place I have stayed when considering all-inclusive resorts. For sure it had the best food and pools. It was nice to get away with friends and chill on the beach and in the pools. I ate and drank way too much!! My wife really enjoyed her time "hiding" in old Mexico. :o

Gonna give it the ol' college try! Decent amount of season left, and one doe tag left to punch. Sadly gun buck tag is sitting in a bowl of soup now.

They just got the corn out on a farm that I have wanted to hunt this year for the first time. It is in a great neighborhood for bucks. Our archery season opens back up on the 20th and I am heading out there soon to get a stand or two in place to be ready.

I just finished cutting up the big doe. With the exception of the back straps which were fine, the rest of it had a bit of a smell from lying overnight with the gut shot.

I know the meat is still okay because it was below 40 degrees when I shot her and it got down to 26 degrees. Still, it has the slightest “off” smell.

The back straps smelled fine so I packaged them up but the entirety of the rest of the deer is getting ground for the dogs.

I’m taking a breather and then I’ll start on the little one. The wife is gone to a physical therapy appointment so I’m working on these by myself until she gets home.

Once I finish these I’ve got to start getting the travel trailer loaded for Kentucky.

I’m not a detailed person at all. Just got done checking when season ends in NY and it runs until Jan1. That keeps me in the game a little longer.

I, here in the State of Nebraska, can shoot either a buck or doe until the end of the year...then I can shoot a doe (only a doe) through the month of January. That said, I do have a heater body suit that works almost too well.

I can barely keep up with Mrs. Fletcher........I don't need her to bring the whole herd home.
