What is the one sporting event that you would NOT mess with. No new format, rules, adjustments, etc..... What is as close to as good as it can be the way it is?

    They already did it.

    The Masters.

It wasn't broke. They didn't "fix" it. In their attempts to re-design/revamp Alistair (sp?) and Bobby's works (to "Tiger-proof" it), they got the opposite effect. They took 1/2 the field out of it, before they tee off on Thursday.

    Sad.

Jeff - very good answer. I was thinking about that as I made this thread but wasn't my #1 choice. Very close 2nd though. Why they ever messed with the best event (IMO) there was for a lot of years is beyond me. Well, I know why..... "tiger proof" lmao good luck. But it essentially like you said took half the field out and played more into his hands. Not the same luster on the back nine on sunday as there used to be. Don't hear the roars. Don't see charges up the leaderboard. Still an awesome event and hopefully always will be, but not quite the same.

But..... the NCAA tourney! WTF? Why is there talk about changing it? It is as close to perfect as can be right now. From bubble teams to teams getting in for the first time to the seedings to the upsets on and on and on and on etc.................... it is PERFECT. Don't change a thing. Best sporting event there is right now. What the hell would 90 something teams do except have a bunch of games nobody cares about?

    NY....THE reason I said the Masters is......"Tradition".

Tell me one other major (US) sporting event that's played out in the same place, year after year.

And.....Tennis doesn't count. I mean.....Flushing Meadows??????? That place compares to Augusta National?.....lol I'm betting you NOBODY goes there for the first time......and says...."Yep! There it is! THAT'S the baseline where Agassi hit that killer backhand against Connors in '02"!

Don't ring the same, does it????????????????????

If they expanded to 90 teams this year maybe your Tarheels could get in. :)

    NFL Playoffs.

I would love to change BCS into a playoff format for football however.

Not lookin' very good for our Mild either... :( Both of my pics are killing me this year... And don't even bring up the Hurricanes.. they were done before the season started. lol.

I've always been a fan of the Wings, and as much as I love the Wild, I gotta say, they are disappointing just as much this year. I think I'm just going to start rooting for the Moose again... lol.

    MNKK,

How can you be disappointed In the Wild? New coach, a whole new philosophy, new batch of players. To be honest they've exceeded my expectations. The only thing that's a little disappointing so far to me Is their goal tending. Their out shooting most of their competition. Look how they started out this year and look where they are now. A big Improvement.
