Alright here's the deal... We're going to battle it out, the West half of US/Canada vs. the East half of the US/Canada. In the bh.com deer contest in 2008 there were 81 bucks harvested, in 2009 there were 41 bucks entered into the contest (astonishing, I know). At this point I saw we take the top 30 deer from each half. If either team does not have 30 deer entered, we'll utilize the number of entries of the team with the fewest. The top SCI scoring deer will be used to determine the winner. In order to participate in the contest, you have to be an active member (have posts) on bowhunting.com prior to August 15th, 2010. To keep things simple, the same rules will apply as listed for the 2010 bh.com deer contest. The only exceptions (that I see right now) will be that: 1.) Does will not count in this contest, 2.) Multiple deer are allowed. Your deer must be scored on the team appropriate for where the deer was killed, not where you reside. There will be no entry thread for the competition, only a scorecard and two team threads for the smack talking to take place. The Mississippi River will be the division for the majority of the United States. Apparently (after a google search) the Mississippi headwaters are at Lake Itasca, MN. To make it simple the boundary will go due North from the town of Lake Itasca, MN through Canada. This should be pretty simple. If you have any questions, ask them here and we'll get it figured out... or if you have an idea for some other rule, let it be known. Yes, the West is larger but if you choose to live over there... it's your own fault :D
Is there going to be a # for each team or will you just pull the stats off the hunting contest? Do you also have to be entered in the BHC contest to be entered in this one? Etc, etc, etc.
its going to be interesting! this competition aside i hope everybody enjoys thier hunts, stays safe, and gets 20lbs fatter off back straps!
Brandon, everyone that kills a buck will be eligible. IV, we'll have a separate entry "scorecard" all entries will be entered in that thread. I don't think we need numbers since there will only be two teams. All bucks will be scored until 30 have been killed and from there the top 30 deer will be counted. You do not have to be entered in the BHC contest as we have several members that don't enter the contest...
those poor poor W. siders, they've got California! AHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And you have Vermont, Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, Maine, New Hampshire... etc. I'll take California ol' man :D :D :D
