Absolutely. I showed my buddies your buck and they thought it was awesome! We rarely see a buck like that on the public land we hunt. Awesome!

Final preparation going on here. Arrows hitting good. Pack and all clothes cleaned and hung out for a couple weeks. It's close.....

Had a young buck come by my #1 stand this morning. Still no pics lately of the four shooters that I have pics of the last couple months. Checked 3 other cams and moved 1 of them. By 2Pm a thunder storm rolled in with hail and chased me off the ridge! Had 2 bull elk come by yesterday. IMAG0140.JPG

I've often commented on my confidence in hunting a full moon during midday. I figured it was a long shot because it was 90 degrees today but decided to give it a try just to test my theory that they will still move midday in the heat. I really have had lots of action on full moon days but I don't typically hunt in this kind of heat. I made the 100 mile drive and got there at 9:00 am. I was in my stand by 9:45 and the wind switched exactly the opposite of what was predicted and opposite what I needed in this stand about 10:00 am. I felt like a knucklehead sitting in midday in that heat...when a deer started to walk in and winded me because of the shift in wind direction. I didn't see the deer, just heard it blow several times no more that 75 yards away. This was about 10:10 am. At 12:10 a hog trotted by at about 65 yards. I stuck it out until almost 2 pm. Deer movement at midday on a full moon. I'm still a believer!

Checked my cam at my #3 spot which I hunted on opening day of archery season due to the wrong wind for my #1 spot. Looks like I should have been there the second day also! Damn the luck!

Hey Guys, I've got a public land whitetail podcast called huntzilla (obviously). I'm going to put some more stuff on there for fitness but with it being prime whitetail time I'm trying to hone in on the hunting side of things. I just released an episode w Dan Infalt and Troy Sachsenmaier (one of the public land midwest whitetail guys). I'll put the links below. Anywho, just wanted your opinions on it and wanted to invite yal to send me pics of your successes this season. I'm trying to make this a destination for the average hunter so I'm doing some stuff on Facebook and Instagram. Just search huntzilla and you should be able to find me. Anyway, here's the links and I'm biased but there's a lot of good info here. Thanks.

Public land doe down yesterday. Walked over a mile in hoping some other hunters would push something to me. Pack of does came trotting in about 9am. Wham!

Taking my first crack at a buck I named the 15B buck this week. Temps are dropping 20 degrees in 36 hours starting today.
