5' is rare...they are usually 10' or 20'...sometimes 50' but also rare, unless you live in some pretty big hills.

225 to 240 would be 15 feet... 3 foot contours :-o Unless I'm looking at it wrong?

I came up with 3 foot as well, but thought I was confused. Never seen that before. Everything here is 10 or 20.

That's a heck of a drag. I would be prepared to quarter whatever I shot back there

Same here, 3' is a first for me. Those are little hill's, I could probably run down to the lake and back and not even be out of breath, lol.

I have a game card stashed in the bushes at the red exclamation point. That’s the area I have traditionally hunted.

But there is no rhyme or reason to the deer movement There. There is plenty of signs, but you just have to be at the right place at the right time, and for the past year and a half I have not been. And I’m done with it.

The map posted seems to have 3' counters, which is confusing....this is a map of the same spot and it show 10' counters. Those are big hills, lol

A Terrain saddle is where the ground drops away left and right and goes up front and back. Deer are lazy so they take the path of least resistance also thermals will come come up in the low area between two hill tops.

Exactly...now what's the number one factor needed for a saddle to be productive? And the answer is isn't "deer" lol.

I'm try to run a lecture but you guy's aren't playing along very well, lol.

A deer needs to have a reason to use the saddle....a point (A) to point (B) is needed for the saddle to be productive. If it leads to nowhere...it's probably not worth walking in for.

    Ohhhh lol!!!

I’m assuming a buck would travel it cruising..... in the morning smelling thermals coming up from the eastern hill trying to see if he can smell a doe in estrous, while the dominant W/NW wind would carry scent from any hot Does to his west??

Let me rephrase that, he would use the military crest of the hill for what I just mentioned
