    The 2017 annual edition of the Official Thread For Public Land Hunting.

    This is a thread dedicated to those who are hunting public ground full or part time.

    Anything regarding public land hunting goes in this thread... Scouting, live updates from stand, post hunt recaps, photos and anything relevant all belong here.

    Some complain about hunting public land, in this thread we celebrate it :tu:

    Did you have success on public land last fall? Post the photos and story to get this thread started.

    These are the nice bucks I have on camera so far on public land in PA. Going to hang the stands this week. I have a couple promising stand sets!!! Can't wait for opening day!!!! The one buck in the picture is a giant 5 point, I would be more than happy with any of these bucks!

    Dude. The biggest deer I've seen have been on public land. Not just a few times either. I've seen a bunch and killed a handful of super nice bucks on public. My family farm borders the biggest public access in Southern IL.Shawnee National Forest. So I've grown up hunting public ground. I also hunt along the Mississippi River and north end of Carlyle Lake in central IL. Ill be checking in on this thread for sure as the season progresses. This is gonna be good!

    10,000 acres of CT state forest. I Didn't see a deer all year last year!

    I hunt pubic land exclusively. I love how I have the woods to myself during the week! It's like they're my woods. Here's a couple non-shooters, but there's a bigger one out there. :tu: I really do enjoy this thread.

    Will be hunting some public ground this year for the first time since moving to the Midwest. I'll be taking advantage of the Kansas WIHA program on two separate trips this fall. While it's probably not my best shot at a big deer this year, it will definitely be a fun adventure and I'm really looking forward to it.

    For the first time I'll be spending some of my fall on public land. I have one buck I'm after but am curious to see what the 1,500 acres can provide. I put out a camera one Wednesday and will be checking it this week. Definitely an uneasy feeling putting out a cam on public, rather than private.
