I'm taking my oldest out tomorrow to sit over a small food plot... would like it I could hammer another doe in front of him; I've never got to release an arrow at a deer when he's been with me, though we did have a doe getting close a couple years ago but it got dark before she closed the distance.

Thursday morning I'm leaving with a couple buddies to head to Pike County, Mo., -- which is just across the river from the famed Pike County, IL. We're pulling a trailer with us and going to hunt Thurs. night through Sun. morning before heading home. Never been in that part of the world before, so it'll be interesting. :)

    Season Update

Hey guys, i haven't checked in in awhile. Hope everyones season is going well. I've only been out a few times since my doe kill. I wish i had more to report but i can't seem to lay eyes on a nice buck. I had all kinds of pictures of good bucks on my trail cam but once September hit, i haven't seen one. Nothing on the trail cam and no signs. Every time that i have been out ive had does and young bucks come in at 5-15 yrds from me. So close that i can sit there and snap pictures with my phone as shown below is a small 6 point. I don't know where all the big guys have gone, maybe hanging out in the corn field? I set up a scrape dripper over a mock scrape and ill be back in 2 weeks to hunt it. Im actually heading out to the mountains of western MD this weekend for a week. It will be my first time hunting outside of my state and in different terrain. Well anyway, wish me luck and hopefully i can make something happen soon for the team.

I can not wait until tomorrow at 3 pm! I will be on vacation for three weeks and doing nothing but deer hunting. I hope to down a deer soon. It has been really rough on me so far. I have only seen some in early Oct and nothing for the past week. I have only had a shot at one deer and that was the 6 pointer I posted earlier in our thread. I pray that things change for the better soon. I also pray for a great year for all of you out there!

Well put me down for 50. Put down a doe this morning. Felt pretty good to break in the Z7Xtreme. Glad I got the doe out of the way so I can bear down on the bucks during the fast approaching rut. Had my mother in law take the pics and was in a bit of a hurry. Thats my excuse for the truck bed pics and I'm sticking to it. I promise I'll do better when I post the pics of the 200 incher I drop this weekend.

hey guys, i put down a 4.5 year old cull deer this morning. big ugly 6 point.. he wont score well (it'll be around 85" i imagine), but we've been trying to take this one out for 2 seasons now, and i dont think anyone would be happy if i said i let him go because i needed a higher score for a contest :) I'll score him when i get him back from the processor - i had to work this afternoon and it was still a bit too warm to hang all day.

    Congratulations Josh!

I just rolled back in from Northern Missouri and the hunting there SUCKED!! I'm sure it's good a LOT of places up there (of course, I know it is...), and in fact may have been good five miles from where we hunted -- but the Conservation Area we tried was abysmal. Maybe worse.

I ended up shooting a small doe this morning, and it was the first deer I'd seen from stand over the last four days -- and one of only four I saw in walking over 17 miles of back-and-forth to stand sites and general scouting. One of my hunting buddies had a shot at a 4-pointer and the other never saw a deer from stand.

I'll be glad to be returning to my usual haunts this week.

Go get that big boy bowhunt! Congrats Greg! Now I wish I would even have one in shooting range and see one! It has been really rough so far this year and not liking it at all. I have only had one deer that I could of shot but he was that small 6 pointer. I am ready to draw blood bad! Heading out this morning again now that I am on vacation so I hope to down one for us soon!

Here I go again to try my luck! We will see. Vacation is nice but I need to kill something to make it that much better. I am off until Nov 13 so I better kill something.

Good luck to you guys. I just ended my vacation dawg. Saw a couple bucks and trailed a couple that my family shot, but nothing but a doe for me on vacation. Still plenty of season left for my buck though.

Hey guys been awhile since I checked in. I'm on my way to hunt some private farms in northwest mo this weekend. Should be some good action with the cooler weather moved in. I'll keep you guys posted if I have any service on my phone.
