    That'd work, bowhuntIL! :)

I had two fawns come by at 17 yards, but no Momma behind them; guess she's kicked them out already. That'd about do it as far as answering all the people whining about shooting does with fawns and them not surviving... ;)

Did see a buck in velvet tonight at 80 yards... he was a forkie... the velvet had about dried black and had one strip hanging off the rack.. very cool.

I shot a doe last night. Shot her right at dark and it started to rain. She didn't go far so tracking wasn't an issue. Got her quartered up and in the fridge last night. I forgot my camera so I had my mom take a few pics in the barn. I'll get it posted here tonight, still waiting to get pics back from my mom's camera.

    Congrats Matt!

26 days and counting for me guys. Well not actually, I'm headed to hunt our northern zone the weekend of 10/1-10/2, but I can only shoot bucks there and the chances of that happening are pretty slim. At least I'll get out there......can't wait for the southern zone opener though.

Here she is. Sorry for the terrible pics. She was not as big as she looked as when I shot her (ground shrinkage) haha. Got some long legs though.

Congrats again buddy... Like Dawg said, meat for the freezer!! (I myself ALMOST dropped the hammer on one of those fawns I mentioned... set up in the opposite corner of the bean field last night and had them come by AGAIN... flirting with death, I tell ya... :D)

That is funny you say that greg! Last year I had a huge doe come in with a yearling. I drew back on the doe and my D loop snapped in half and sent my arrow flying in the treetops. The yearling was still in the deep drainage ditch so she did not know what happened. She came out of the ditch looking for mommy and received an arrow out of frustration. She was good eating though.

Well, I just got some better news! The farmer stopped me today and asked if I have gotten any pictures of the big boy! I told him I got video of a nice 11 pointer but not really thick is that the one you speak about? He said NO there is a very massive buck that is either an 8 or 10 point and he is a giant! Now I am hoping that I get pics of the deer he is talking about. Man I am ready for deer season! Bring on the first fast please!

hey guys. I hunted the early doe bow season last week here in wv, but just couldnt make myself pull the string back on anything when it was over 75 degrees. Heading out this weekend for a week of bear hunting in southern wv, then coming back for opening day. Did get a pic of this guy on the farm i deer hunt. THink he needs to come out - just a 7 point, and a pretty big body at that. what yall think?

I dare say he would walk for most guys on here, but where I live he would be taking a ride in the back of my truck. He would put some points on the board for us if nothing else. If you're after him, I hope you get em.

i wont shoot him, but i think he's a 3.5 year old deer (i shot a 6.5 yr old last year that dressed at 190 lbs. and a 4.5 yr old that dressed at 160 lbs), so we dont grow them super large here. have a friend that has never shot a buck before, and if he keeps on this pattern, she will get the chance on opening day.

That is cool Josh! I know I would let him go until late season if I was not having any luck that boy would be filling the freezer. I raise my family on the meat so a nice rack is a bonus. I will pass on the smaller bucks until late season then it is game on for them too.

Been out of state for a couple days and had to miss a few days before that with other obligations... but should get to hunt at least two of the next three nights coming up... then come Saturday, the season's open on both sides of the river. Woo hoo!
