Couple shooters finally showing up... my buddy talked to the neighbors and he confirmed we should not worry. he has been having great success on his cams this summer...guess we just haven't had them out long enough and started jumping to conclusions. So far, there is an ample supply of 2.5 year old 8's on cam...like 20. All will get a pass. next year should be sweet.

I know I know. I still haven't made it to my property. We got selected for a park but still don't know which one. I will have some pics up soon.

 

Yeah i went and checked cams this weekend and was a complete bust, not sure what was going on

 

Not a lot of action in this spot. I have 3 cameras out and this one is the only one I can get too pretty easily. I'll check the other two the end of the week to see if they are more active. Been seeing some decent bucks when I glass so I'm still pretty excited.

 

Another shooter. He is not as big as the two 9's but he's pretty nice.

 

All the bucks I have been posting are on the Mount Pleasant, MI (MP) 160 my buddy owns. I can make it up there a couple weekends and that is about it.

Story: I hunt a 160 parcel I got permission for on Oct 3 last fall, didn't have much time to figure out the property. What I did figure, was that there is this guy who hunts/takes over the northern 80 just south of the northern swamp. I ran across him, and he wasn't happy I was there....A REAL GOMER is the best description...So we basically stayed clear of each other. I saw one shooter 8 on Oct 22, but he stayed out of my lane at 35 yds.

In December I found a nice rub in an area in the south 80. I checked it out last week, found old rubs and setup a cam. I picked a tree just in case it turned out good. Well my covert didn't seem to be working right, so I decided to give it a week and swap cams. Swapped today, and covert was working fine.. This is what I found.

Bachelor group of 3 came through yesterday morn at day break. From the SOUTH...even better.

YEE YEE!!! Scouting paid off. Now I need to get a stand setup. Problem is I have been in there twice in 8 days. Need to let it sit and hang in the rain I think.

 

Each growing day the itch gets worse and worse lol Especially since the deer activity in my neighborhood is getting more and more consistent

I am stoked to hit the woods for my 1st year of Archery :D

I will be hitting it pretty hard this year guys. Taking 6 days to hunt during halloween into early november. Should be seeing some slammers during this time.
