Thanks man! My hunting buddy checked them and sent me this one...

Nothing crazy yet but they were only out for 5 days. Hoping he can keep the anxiety down up there. He said there were 5 other bucks and that was the biggest so far.

I have a cam on property by my house I haven't checked yet. Also putting a new one out this weekend.

Sling I live in Chesapeake, VA. I hunt all over though from the Eastern Shore, to Sussex, to Dewitt, to Prince George, To Nelson County. I do hunt a little here in Chesapeake and sometimes NC.

 

I'm up in manassas. I hunt mainly nova and wv

This thread isn't for the bowhunting.com contest. This is a side wager with some michigan boys about who will do better. The team threads for the official contest haven't started(teams haven't been selected yet)

 

Well was any one able to get out and check some cams this weekend to see what the will be after this fall?

 

Well just found out that the neighbors to the south of the parcel I hunt in MP, did very well last year. As a lot of our bucks bed on their property, they took some of the nicest ones during gun season. Two 160 class, two 140 class and a 125 class buck were killed last fall....did not know that. So, to say the least, only little & borderline 8's seem to be popping up on cam thus far. I know it has only been 1.5 weeks on cam, but kinda bummed.

 

Dang yeah thats a bummer to find out but still looks like theres a few decent ones hanging around

 

No I still haven't made it to my property. I did have a meeting with the county wildlife biologist last night though. She hasn't told us which park we got yet. But she did give us some good news. They've implemented an earn a buck program where from sept 7- oct 5th ish we must take two does before we take a buck. Then from 0ct 5th ish to dec 31st it's a one doe to get one buck. The jan 1-feb 15 it's anything goes. Any bucks we take no longer count against our tags and there's no season limit as long as we take the appropriate amount of does.

We were also told that a healthy deer herd is 15-20 deer per square mile and that in most of the parks the herd is 40-60 per square mile with a couple of parks topping 400 deer per square mile. I think it's going to be a great season
