I don't know about you guys, but the night before opening day is a tough one for me. Usually consists of a sleepless night filled with anxiousness and the next day I am exhausted. What do you guys do to ease the nerves the night before?

A couple of cold ones and a Tylenol PM. Don't take the Tylenol too late though or you might sleep through your alarm and/or be groggy on stand.

I actually get much more excited about the week off I take during the first week of Nov. But opening weekend is cool too.

watch the weather and make final decisions on which stands to hunt. try to remember my travel routes in the dark to the tree. make sure i got all my stuff packed and ready to go. and of course i end up in the tree way to early praying for daylight to roll around.

I dont gets those nerves anymore. I make sure all is ready way in advance and then hopefully wake up on time.

Now, when I see the first deer of the season, from a treestand, that gets me going.

The night before MY opening day, this year, will likely be sometime in late November-mid December. Ill probably be more concerned with bitter temps, than anything else.

Opening day of Archery has little effect on me, yes I'm anxious and all, but I also know the best days are way ahead of me.

Now the night before the Gun opener is different, done it for decades and still get the butterfly's as the sun is going down, sleep comes tough.

When I was little I wouldnt sleep a wink. Im starting to get it under control. It still takes me forever to fall asleep. This year I work the night before so I will be coming home and changing and headed to the woods.
