We beat the packers last year with a third string QB

I realize the Pack got hot at the end and won the Superbowl last year...but 5 out of the last 6 division titles have been won by the Bears or Vikings.

Um...I remember them putting Grossman, that's right, Grossman in because Donovan's work ethic was bad. People can argue that Shanahan is a jerk, but it's not the first time McNabb's work ethic has been brought in to question.

By the way, I'm a Bears fan. I'm so glad somebody else has Grossman. He's like a deer in the headlights when the pocket breaks down.

Don't get me wrong, I used to like McNabb. He grew up in Illinois and I even even played his high school in football (though a couple years after he was already in college) and I have the utmost respect for him. However, he just hasn't been the same since SB 39. It's a shame really, hopefully he's really successful in his role as a mentor in Minnesota. With no targets downfield and a shotty O-line, I just don't think he's going to have much of a season.

I'll take McNabb's entire career in Philly and examine it before I judge him based off of one season in Washington, especially under Shanahan who hasnt been able to win since Elway retired. Also the only other person I have ever heard question McNabb's work ethic was T.O., there's a picture of stability.

McNabb has been historically known as a hard worker. He has also been one of the best professionals, behavoir wise, this league has had in recent years. He's been through a lot of BS, and most of it was unjustified. Ponder can learn a lot from him.

And you think Ponder is better off in this situation? A guy who struggled to read college defenses in the ACC?

McNabb gives them a better chance to win to start the season. Very, very, very few rookie QBs have come in right away and done well, and add the shortened time they have to prepare, the odds are really against them. Ponder had a lot of question marks going into the draft. He will need time. McNabb isn't the long term answer. The Queens know that. They brought him in because he still has a little left, and he can teach a young QB a few things.
