It wasn't bad but pretty "meh". I feel like it could have been written and cast far better than it was. Just "ok" isn't good enough for a Star Wars film and that's been most of my complaints with all of the Disney Star Wars films so far. I liked the prequels better than all of the recent releases. I feel like Rogue One has been the best of the new ones, maybe Solo next followed by Episode IIV then IIIV last. I hate The Last Jedi. Luke drinking green boobie milk was a slap in the face by Rian Johnson to Luke, Mark Hamill and all the fans, not to mention what he did to Luke's character otherwise. All the new characters are terribly written. The only things that saved Rogue One were the explanation of the death star weakness design, Donny Yen and the Vader scene at the end and notable Felicity Jones as Jyn Erson did a decent job and wasn't bad to look at. I'm surprised they didn't cast an ugly purple haired cow in that role.
Rogue One worked so well because every character had a clean slate, and didn’t overdue it. The new SW films don’t live up to the expectations of the previous films, not even close. The same thing happened with the new Indiana Jones movie. Just a let down. Haven’t seen Solo yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I thought this was odd as well, and it could have been done better but, blue milk was a big part of Luke's life in the original trilogy so its a cool way to connect the new and old films. Chirrut Imwe has to be my favorite character from new films.
Bullshit, I was a Star Wars snob since I was 8 years old. (arguably a snob period but epecially a SW's snob, lol)
That was Bantha milk, a four legged musk ox type creature. It at least was grounded in some normalcy. Johnson intentionally made the creature in TLJ look like a grotesque human/walrus hybrid and showing Luke milk it directly and drinking it straight from the teet was pretty intentionally gross. To make that even worse they colored it the most psychologically unappealing color for food...a puss green. What was the point, Luke didn't need to drink milk, there was no need to pay homage to blue milk with green milk either. It was just part of the character assassination of Luke, a straight white male lead character. Good grief that entire movie triggers me just to think about it again....ewe.
The last Star wars movie I saw was Return of the Jedi, everyone made after that was pretty much made for star wars dorks.
Other than that character, I thought the movie was well done. But, yes I cheered when that droid was blown in half. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
