Well, I thought I would give spypoint another shot, I've had there camera's before, couple years back and just didin't care for them...So I saw some daytime pics and some reviews on the camera and everything was positive on the reviews.... WELL...the day pictures are fantastic, but these night shots are just unacceptable to me...UNLESS, I've got a lemon, I hope not.... Here are a couple night shots, would y'all not agree that this is unacceptable, not even close enough Flash to see a deer unless it's right on the camera... Does anyone else have one of the new 2015 Spypoints who could shed some info on this..... Thanks Creeks
woo that is bad i would check with them looks like no flash at all has to be the cam i find it hard to belive the would make a camera that would only give out that much light
That's what Im sayin.....and I just bought another one before I checked these photos...so I'm hoping it's the camera and they'll replace it......haven't checked my other camera yet, just put it out today.... Creeks!
I hope so, I wrote them and probably will not hear from them until tomorrow.....and the bad part is I bought 2 of them.... Will see Creeks!
Never had any problem with there service department ,they should be reliable unless you get it dealt with in the States, It's a Canadian Company out of Montreal. Rocky
They contacted me, and said that the LED had to have something to reflect back from, is the reason it is dark....I told them, I've never heard of such thing, that I have other cameras that illuminate an entire area, not just 10ft in front of camera...LOL...I sent them some additional pics, waiting on a reply from a technician at SpyPoint.
Run some walk by test in your yard, easy to find out what the cam will do or won't. For what it is worth putting a large tree or shrub will reflect a lot of IR lighting and will help a lot. Black flash cams are not known for big flash but low impact game cams.
This will be the last spypoints I buy, I tried them before and didn't like them, but it was a couple years ago....I thought from the reviews that it would be better.....LESSON LEARNED!! The day photos are fantastic, but the night have some work to do...Will probably sell them now to get some money back....paid over 300 for both of them.... The guy at Spypoint said that this was normal.....and like you were saying ultramax that it needs something to reflect on..... Dang..somebody pass the Vaseline................ Creeks!
I have some spypoints as well and they were great for the first year and it's like the ir flash is junking out. I have the same problem as you with mine. and my 2 in 1 spypoints now are showing white stripes across the pictures. I am also done with them. thinking about trying Moultrie but not sure what to go to next?
I can tell you what to do......I just took 2 of them back to where I got them....PURE JUNK night photos, but the daylight pics are really good....Just don't have a need for a camera that can't do both.... If you want a really great camera that does both the Browning HD Strike Force is sweet....I traded the 2 spypoints back in and got a Bushnell HD Aggressor....It looks to be really nice also with the day photo's, haven't tried the night ones yet...just picked it up this afternoon...I'll report back here after I get a few night shots with it...but right now it looks to be a good one... Creeks!
That's just some southern slang we use....Trade em in....LOL....I got my money back from where I bought them, and took that money and bought the Bushnell.... Creeks!
You will be happy with the Aggressor I believe. I've had several Moultries over the years, mainly because I keep getting sucked back into trying them. I get frustrated with every one of them because I get SO MANY blank pictures, or pictures of small birds, wind, etc. I'm sticking to my Cuddebacks, Bushnell and I'm maybe going to try some of the new Brownings in the future.
Hey Matt, were neighbors, I live in Bristol.....The brownings are the best of the one's that I have used...The 2015 Strike Force HD, is a great cam.... The aggressor I just checked tonight been up since yesterday afternoon and I can already tell you what a difference in the night photos....it lights the whole screen up.....BUT, they are noisy, in Photography meaning "Grain in photos" Take a look for yourself.....This one don't need anything to reflect off of, what a crock of BS they fed me.....Camera is in the same exact spot as the Spypoint was......You be the judge!!
Wow we are neighbors! That's pretty cool. I never noticed the Aggressor being that loud at all. It's a very good camera in my opinion. The flash and trigger speed are very good, plus 14MP is hard to beat. I'm going to try one of the browning cameras in the near future. What stinks about Spypoint is they are coming out with some really cool technology but it doesn't matter if the camera is terrible! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There putting their A$# before their head.....Get the dang cameras working good/great first, then work on the next step....To be honest with you, I wished I had kept some of the photos the Spypoint took during the day, to be fair about it, NO JOKE, I think the spypoints daytime photos are the best I've seen..... But the Night photos....Pathetic....It's like having a beautiful woman, but her personality is the pits.....you have nothing!!! Creeks
Good analogy! I've been having really good luck with the new Cuddeback cameras and have had several in the past too. I like the fact you don't get quite so many blanks. They have a better than average warranty as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
