So. With the bow i asked all you kind folks about last year. I ended up buying to get me started. I have a co-worker that is all abouf bows and bow hunting. He tuned and did some ajustments for me. On the ol Golden Eagle i have a good set of True Glo 5 pin sights, a Trophy Ridge Revolution rest, and a new peep. Guy at Cabelas measured my arms and told me i needed about a 28 1/2 inch draw. So not right. Gotts adjust it shorter yet. Last two nights i have been shooting it after work. Grouping is getting better. Im just kinda interested in your thoughts other than it being an older bow with some budget equipment.

I have an ol' Golden Eagle UltraEvolution and absolutely love it! I use it as my backup.

If you like it and hitting we're you aim, it's a great bow. It's not the equipment that counts, the person behind it does! One of my dear friends still hunts with a Martin Warthog purchased in 1980 something and kills deer every year. I offer him a bow every year FREE and he continues to use the "Hog".

Just make sure you hit your anchor points consistently and your shots will improve dramatically.
If you can swing a cheap change, going to a new peep I have found does wonders. Myself and a lot of my friends had peeps that were years old. Just by chaging that we were able to see much more clearly. My friends with old bows that I trust to pull back mine comment first on how much better you can see with it, how much easier it is to aim, secondly, they comment on how smooth it is to pull. A guy at work who bought his first bow, I suggested this to him, he couldn't have been happier with the outcome.
Also, just make sure the bow fits you. That the draw length is correct, the peep is in the correct position...etc. After that, read up on tuning. Get on google and look this up "easton archery tuning guide", it's a 32 page pdf file that will become a good friend.

As long as you're happy what more can you ask for but some practice time.

I have pdf on my laptop. Alot of info in there. I still need to get the dl shortened. Tonight we shot some 40 yard shots and i held a decent group. Not great but it would kill deer. About the peep. He put in a bigger one and the view is much better.
