After Sophie died, an opportunity opened up to purchase a Hungarian Vizsla with champion lines throughout her pedigree ... both Field and show ... this little girl has already learned to retrieve ...and of course all the basic commands ...come, stay, sit .... I will be working on Woaw and heal soon ... gonna get a pigeon or pheasant wing to train her how to hold a point, etc ...

Great looking pup. Glad you were able to come across another dog. Best of luck with her.

My carpenter up in Canada has a Vizsla. He never trained it to hunt, just wanted it as a companion. Extremely nice dogs, good looking and have short hair.

Great looking pup! She sounds like a keeper. Its hard to forget a good dog, but a new pup sure helps the healing process.

You're last name is Sorrento? Italian, huh, I knew we had to have something in common. You just moved up a notch in my book. That puts you at notch 1. :D

Ehhhhhhh, Tony Sorrento, how you doin, huh?

Bring her to Wisconsin and we can put her on the king of game birds...... THE RUFFED GROUSE.

I never met an Italian that wasn't. Just ask them...haha. I may know some people too. ;)

I must have missed when you called me a paisan. Funny story...when my Grandma found out we had lasagna as one of the meal options at our wedding reception, she grabbed my then fiance by the cheeks with both hands and said, "Oooh, thank you. We'll make a dago out of you yet!" Crazy Sicilians.

I'm actually half Polish. My Mom is Sicilian and my Dad is Polish. I'm a Pollackian Dago. I got my dashing good looks and perfect complexion from my Mom's side of the family. Seems every class I was in or sports team I was on growing up had at least two other Matts. Vito was a nickname I got to not confuse me with the other Matts.

    Great looking dog.

Only suggestion I'd give you on the training is........."sit" and "stay" are redundant. When you tell your dog to sit.......it should do so until you give it another command.

After my first dog I trained, I switched from "come" to "here". I got in a BAD habit of saying "come-ere". So, I just took one word out.

At that age....I wouldn't do more than a couple-three retrieves per "lesson". But, you can have several lessons a day. I wouldn't go more than 5 minutes with anything, though. That pup's still a BABY!

Beautiful dog, preacher. Congrats. That may be our next dog, too.

Jeff...I absolutely agree with the short training sessions ....and have utilized that in the past with my other Vizsla I owned .... I am 99..5% enjoying and loving her ... the other .5% training .... and as far as the "stay" command, that works with both sitting and standing ..but it's noted ... and thank you for the comments..

Steve ... they are my favorite breed .... VERY smart and VERY obedient ,,,and just down right gorgeous :)

Just remember....it's harder to "creep" with your ass on the ground.

    Good luck!
