Yea never understood "set" either but to each is own. I say lock-on,ladder, or blind in the spots I set up.

These aren't phrases but calling a deer a "swamp donkey" or calling a big buck a "stink pig".

Pretty much anything that is said during a hunting show is annoying and overused.

I quit watching these shows when the content all became the same. Everybody is seemingly convinced that their brand of gear is the best, hands down, advertise advertise advertise. I'd like to see a hunting show where I learned something valuable in the field, not what to look for in the sporting goods aisle. Sure, there might be tidbits of good information here and there, someplace between advertising for Ozonics, and Matthews but I am sure as hell not going to sit and waste my time hoping something valuable comes up.
Also, usage of the term "Hitlist" should fall somewhere in the middle of the Autism spectrum, between Aspergers and Pervasive Developmental Disorder.

Whoever invented the term Swamp Donkey needs a slap across the head. Whoever thought "Swamp Donkey" would make a good product name needs to be fired immediately.

    Amen.

Then again, the way some people raise crops just for their deer populations, give them supplemental feed, vitamins and minterals and ensure they have adequate water sources, they might just as well say they harvested a buck. They pretty much grew their current crop of "shooter bucks on their hit list". I'm not saying it's a bad thing or that it's easier to kill one of their bucks. I'm just saying that in that situation, the term "harvest" could actually apply.

Another thing that really spins me up, is watching a TV hunter make a gut shot and then saying "well, the shot was a little far back" or as Justin said, "a touch back". I've yet to see a TV hunter hang their head and admit that they just screwed up. Wait, I take that back. I saw Bill Jordan do that very thing on the latest Monster Bucks DVDs.

Ha! This reminds me of a friend of mine! He was a pro bass fisherman for a while and whenever he got a new sponsor, it was the best "boat/lure/line/rod/reel/etc." in the world!

I have friends like that too, what is funny about it is when they rely on the gear more than their own ability and inevitably fail and wonder why.

You guys make me laugh. This is exactly why politicians say absolutely nothing. Everyone is a critic. Back seat drivers are always better drivers... I am not saying that I don't have annoyances but really who cares... And yes.... Just like everyone else my way is always better. :p

For the record it wouldn't hurt my feelings if Todd wouldn't say "There is no question about it" or any other variant. Any person can use any of those words. Just don't overuse any one of them. :p

You forgot about the part where he lifts up his binos for like two seconds and then spins around grabs his bow and then very slowly clips on his realease and draws then aims for like 10 seconds all while keeping a totally calm face and not looking at all excited.

It's hard to nitpick other people when I know I've said some of these before, but "stud" is one that kind of annoys me after hearing it so much. "Man, that buck is a stud!"

Gimme a second folks. I'm out at the farm right now sitting in my set overlooking my food plot hoping that pig of a deer comes in. I’m talking a slob. A stud! A real swamp donkey! He’s got huge horns and that tell-tale Roman nose. He’s been on my hit list for four years. I’m not talking about some cull buck or management deer here. He’s a hog. I mean a sure-enough shooter. I’ve been waiting to put him down for a dirt nap since I first spotted him as a scrub buck. I’ve got him patterned and I’m set up to hunt the wind.

Wait, here comes a deer. Nah it’s just a nanny and a spotted yearling. Wait! Here he comes. He’s grown into a real bruiser!

Booya! Smoked him! Smoke City! BBD baby! He read the script and I was about to put a Rage in the cage, but he turned so I nailed him with a Texas heart shot! The shot was a touch back, but hey, it’s meat in the freezer.

I,.. I…. I don’t know what to say. I’m at a loss for words yet I can’t stop talking. Now that’s what I’m talking about! What a harvest! I love being in the deer woods! It doesn’t get any better than that!

    (Did I miss anything?)

Stud doesn't bug me but for some reason "Toad" does. I never got that one.

It also annoys me when people say they let their trail cameras "soak" for a few weeks. What are we putting them in bucket of water now? :bash:

I'm guilty of stud. But really, that's an everyday word. Not as bad as stink pig, booner, etc.

Mega Toad. Never seen one but I've heard they're pretty big.
