.. you have ever read in a bowhunting magazine or heard on a tv show? JM's post reminded me of a thread I wanted to post a while back, but forgot Most hunting/ outdoor writers are considered "experts" in their field, mainly because the amount of research they've completed or studies they have done. But once in a while, very rarely in fact, they pen something that blows my mind. My favorite was 2 years ago in a summer issue of Bowhunting World or something like that, and the author was giving early season tips and he all but literally said, " You are literally wasting your time hunting in the morning in early October." I know there are several folks on here that don't hunt am's in the early season, and in the right environment I would agree with him. But this article mentioned no specifics in regards to location (farmland, big woods, swamps, etc.) which made me go: Where I hunt your best bet at arrowing a big buck early season is during the morning, given the right conditions. But enough of my story, what is something that you have read/heard/saw that completely made you question the intelligence of the speaker/author.
I bought a pse bowmadness video and was severely disappointing by it. They had so many bad shots and bad decisions on the video. I know what with hunting comes some unlucky shots but they just seemed so excited and not effected in anyway by their poor shots. The one guy spines a mule deer goes up and puts another arrow in him and doesn't even admit to taking a bad shot. Maybe it's just me but I have a hard time with videos where guys don't show any remorse for taking or making bad shots. The blood bro video was good for this where they talk about a bad shot and how to deal with it. This video just seemed to act like there was no issues with taking a bad shot.
I have seen so many videos where a "pro" says, "look, we are in the big bucks bedroom..." as he is not more than 5 yards from a field edge holding onto a big rub. Terrible.
Same here...mornings were much more consistant for me during the early season this year for some reason.
I watch Drury shows quite a bit and only remember seeing ole Pete a few times. What exactly did he say?
