This contest is just for fun covey, don't worry about it. Potential job opportunities are way more important then this. Hope all goes well with your new venture. And sorry to hear about that iHunt. Its always hard to lose someone you know, but hopefully she doesn't sell the place. If she does maybe you can talk her into negotiating hunting rights for you. I know a few people who have sold property but negotiate having the rights to come back and hunt. Not sure how they did it or how exactly it works.

Care to share any details on the new ag venture? PM if you'd like.

Cole - condolences to everyone involved on the death and good luck and hopefully you can keep hunting there. That's a lot of inches in that short of time.

Hang in there guys. One year I had a branch manager crap the bed and I had to take over to finish the year. Had millions on the line, well signed up for a team only to get out a few times for the late season. Felt like a d-bag but priorities come first then hunting. I do not think anyone is looking down on a team member because of this, better not be.

    Cole condolences as well.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it more than you'll ever know but I still feel like crap for not even getting a doe yet to add to the score and I need some deer meat. There's still some season left and the forecast looks good...I'm not giving up yet.

Sure Greatwhite, I'll PM you, I doubt everyone else wants or needs to be bored with it, I don't even know for sure if I am going into it or how wise a venture it would be but I'll be glad to fill you in.

Sorry to hear that Covey! I had the same thing happen to me a couple years ago. The daughters took over and they are anti hunters. I hunted that spot for 16 years. Prayers go out to the family and friends.

Here are my clips from my cards! Looks like I need to do an all day sit but it is getting colder now which is not good. Not many day clips but the ones are 10 am or after!

Imagine how it feels to have hunted the whole season and not contribute a deer haha. If you wouldn't mind, send me a pm as well. Id love to hear about this because my father was a farmer back in the old country and ive dabbled in farming a little my self.

I called in a possible poaching case today. I could get in trouble with work since it was on a property we are surveying, but I'm pretty fired up about it. Oh well...

Well I as well feel bad I haven't been able to get on a good one with my bow. And not to beat a dead horse but the weather has been absolutely terrible which hasn't helped. I'm running cameras hard to see if one shows up but I haven't heard of anyone seeing much around me. I still think I can get a doe but that might be it. Time will tell, and I'm running out of it

We watched the neighbor dump a couple carcasses in the woodlot we're surveying. I went over later to check them out and found that the guy had cut out the backstraps and left everything else. The whole situation just seemed fishy, so I called it in. DNR said it's at least trespassing and littering, but he was very interested to see if the deer were tagged and checked in.

He dumped allegedly illegal deer carcasses on a property he doesn't own while he knew people were watching? Seems strange, I'd think it's a misunderstanding, hope it's a misunderstanding otherwise he has to be an idiot.

It was our first day on this property, so he probably didn't know we were there yet. I hope it's something innocent too, but figured I should let somebody know...just in case.

I was telling a buddy about my buck and it got me thinking about what I actually hit with the shot. I had assumed that I took out the left lung and clipped the right, but now I'm wondering if I got one lung and the jugular or carotid. The shot was 12 yards, out of a 15 foot stand, and he was quartering away. I did pull the shot left, causing my arrow to exit his neck instead of hitting the opposite shoulder. He dumped buckets of blood for about 90 yards before finally crashing.

Blood at impact, after 30 yards, and entrance/exit wounds (tuft of hair 6" up from sternum).

What do you guys think? Does anybody have the shot simulator?

I'm terrible at judging based on blood. Heck of a blood trail though!

Merry Christmas guys! I got a lump of coal...at least I think it's coal though I thought coal was black, not brown. Anyway it's listed on Ebay now as "Unique stuffed stocking".

Well my hunt was just ruined by trespassing snowmobiles...

I've yet to figure out why snowmobilers feel entitled to go anywhere they please.

Well, I guess that my season has come to a wrap! I just had to retrieve all my trail cameras with my chest waders due to the flooding. If the water does not go down soon it will be the end of the season. I hope to get out at least a few more times but we will see.
