Anybody see any problems with this breakdown? I wasn't quite sure about the mass measurements due to the abnormal tine between the G2 and G3.
The Duke lives! The neighbor actually shot "Bonecrusher" and another 150" buck was taken out there this morning. Lots of new exciting bucks are showing up on my cams too... First 2 pics are Bonecrusher.
Nice bucks airenlow! Last night I got to watch my 8 point that I wounded chase a hot doe with no limp at all. He was about 100 yards away with another shooter buck and two forkys! I ended up seeing 7 bucks and 2 does last night. No shots given! Today I went to go hunting to find out that the wind over the past few days at 20-40 mph gusts gave me an ear infection and has me a little woozy! I stayed in since I don't want to have any accidents on stand. There is still a bunch of time left and shot gun this weekend. I will be traveling down south to a buddys house for camp like we do every year. I hope to get a couple more for the freezer. I tagged two does the last two years since our agreement for this 400 acres are smaller than 140 class are off limits. We want bigger bucks and this is the only way to get them. Last year I had three bucks pushing the 130s so we are almost there with our shooting of big boys.
WHoa, that first one is such a freaking awesome deer! O.o Pics #2 and #5 are worthy of the trail cam contest!
Well got out half the day today and only saw 1 single deer. It happened to be the same deer that I shot last week. He was limping a little but looked like he was going to make the winter. The morning was absolutely perfect, it was a nice 30 degrees, no wind with frost on the ground but yet nothing else. I did see a huge red fox which is always awesome and my father saw 2 does feeding in the vineyard next to the property. Decided to get down around 1 to go sight the gun in and go home. I was very pleased with my groupings as I got sub MOA with the majority of the groups at 100 yards. Ill be taking both the bow and rifle with me for the next couple weeks. If one gets close it gets an arrow and if its just too far it catches a bullet.
It looks like our current score is around 741 6/8. Team 22 (who were in the lead) is up to ~820 1/8. Somebody else might have taken over, but I'm not bored enough to add up all the scores.
Sorry I have been slow to check in with an update, I got back from Kentucky Saturday. Cograts to those who tagged deer while I was gone, great looking buck Josh, nice Doe DAWG, and another great Kansas Buck Cole, love the mass! Had a great time in Kentucky, got to spend some time with family and Zeb (rutnut) my youngest son came up from Texas to bow hunt with me. Now I have not missed a deer since I was like 13 (47 years ago) and had not lost one since 1993 when a nock broke on a beaman arrow and hit a Kansas buck dead in the shoulder bone, but somehow managed to do both while in Kentucky this trip on 150" deer. The first buck I just flat out missed 10" to the left and killed a tree, shot a target and same thing, 10" to the left. The sight had moved even though I had tighten it till it squeaked twice, I could still move it with my thumbs. Still not sure what went wrong on the second buck, thought I made a good shot then watched as the buck ran 25, 50, 75, 100 yards till I could not see it anymore, good color blood, never found my arrow and the buck made it to private property about 400 yard away that looked like a pumpkin patch, posted signs on every tree and Orange tape strung along he property line. Won't go into detail about how much trouble I went through to get permission to look for the buck, but ended up leaving notes on the gates for the people who were leasing it to call me if they found it. Good news is I'm going back for some revenge in Dec.
Illinois gun season starts tomorrow. I was really hoping to have a buck down before gun season. I did have a chance too just choked on the shot. I'm hunting Saturday this gun season. Whatever I get I'll post here. Black Friday I'll be in a stand through the weekend with my bow. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
