Lol, that 8 pointer this afternoon raised my heart rate a little. I thought it was Crossbow there for a minute and he's the one I was actually looking for. Unfortunately he has pulled his disappearing act again this year just like last year. I don't know where he goes but he has a secret hidey hole somewhere. I guess I'll go ahead and post a pic of him since he's MIA. Hes the one with the split drop tine that I was holding his pics back all summer.

We've been getting light to moderate rain all evening so my field work is done for the weekend at least so I'll hopefully be getting out if my tooth allows. I had a root canal and a crown done on a molar about five years ago, yesterday out of the blue...it started feeling like I had a big cramp in my cheek. I thought it would be okay, took some advil and continued on. Last night about 12am it got really bad so I took a tramadol from an old RX and went to sleep. This morning I awoke to it throbbing, took another pain pill and didn't really do anything. Well, by early this afternoon I was in agony so found a dentist to take me in an emergency, my old dentist moved to CO and I never found a new one.
The new dentist I saw today said the nerve was over shot and left a void and was infected badly, gave me a shot to deaden it, gave me two RX's, antibiotic and a pain and I came home with a referral to KC Kansas next week to get it fixed. It's okay right now, hopefully it stays that way on the meds. The antibiotic should get it calmed down with any luck, I sure couldn't have dealt with it the way it was, I was ready to have it pulled or to pull the SOB myself as bad as it was hurting today.

So as long as it stays as it is right now or better I'm planning on getting more serious with chasing some deer until it dries back up. Hopefully I can have some much needed luck in a deer stand.

Haha seriously? Yesterday afternoon I was almost in tears because of one of my teeth. Got into the dentist today; root canal needed.

Nothing to joke about where a toothache is concerned, it was a real *****. I think that was the worst toothache I've ever had or pain for that matter, second only to a couple of kidney stones I've had. The whole side of my head hurt and that tooth was so damned sensitive even the x-ray hurt like hell.

Good news was that it is fixable so I won't lose it. Unfortunately, though I was graced with fairly straight teeth and look okay, I wasn't graced with particularly strong and healthy teeth and a strong coveting of sweets and sodas hasn't played well with my dental health either. I had another cavity that I could see and knew was there that I've been dreading getting dealt with, I expected it to cause trouble but never had a clue one I already had extensive work and spent a fortune on would kick my butt, lol.

You ain't kidding. Most pain I've been in, quite possibly ever. All I can do is be happy for good insurance.

I have good health insurance but no dental coverage. A few years ago I spent about 5K on dental work in one summer. All in two root canals, two crowns and some random other work, cleaning and fillings. Sucked....no telling what this mess will cost. I'm not at all scared or bothered by drills, shots or most anything else but that bill scares the crap out of me every time.

I watched a buck walk 5 yards from my OTHER stand around 10am. I couldn't tell who it was, but that cam should have decent shots of him. I'm home to walk the dog then headed back out for the afternoon.

Lol, my morning hunt was fun and sucked too. I have to travel about a mile of blacktop road to go around to the south side of one of the farms, of that road there's a big huge curve in the middle. When I got halfway around that curve this morning in my truck, a big doe and a buck chasing her run across in front of me and I had to hit the brakes to keep from plowing through them both. They went on across right towards my stand I was going to.

Got parked on the property and headed to the stand in the dark, halfway there I heard a thud that made me jump a little and then a short sharp snort and three deer ran off to the north away from my stand. Too dark to see anything but one flag.

Finally got to the stand, got situated and sat there until about 9:30 and only saw two does out 100 yards east going north into the brush and that was it. I heard two or three bucks grunting around me back in the brush though. Going back out this evening.

I didn't see anything tonight and the buck from earlier wasn't in any pics. I'm thinking it was this new guy...

Well, not sure what is going on with my deer so I am going to give it a break and head back out for some more ducks and geese. I have hunted all week with only seeing two deer. I just don't think they have been pushed out of the big timber a mile away to my area yet. It wont be long and I am really ready to draw blood. Here is a video that I got of a nice buck:
