Here he is guys, he ended up grossing 140-1/8 as a main frame 10 with 3 abnormal points, I have him posted in the scorecard. Sorry for the delay, I have him completely cleaned so spent the day taking care of him. Below is a link to the story of the kill I posted on Hunting Beast's website if you're interested http://www.thehuntingbeast.com/viewtopic.php?f=287&t=32054 And AT, I hit him through the near side lung and through the liver.
Wow, he's a dandy...what a beauty! Good job, yeah your priorities are in the right place, they don't keep well in this weather. I was just anxious to see more pics, lol. Thanks for the pics and thanks for the great contribution to the team!!!
Well I finally got my stands hung and my trail cams out today after some apple picking. After some quick scouting, it looks like my spot is looking better then I thought, and I scouted a new part of the property and found a really worn out trail which is hard to find in that area due to the hard clay ground. Hopefully ill have a doe on the ground in a month.
Thanks, it was actually a better shot than I thought, tucked right behind the shoulder and exited at the last rib. I think he was dead when I was tracking and it was another deer I heard.
Saturday is looking good for an opening day. 72° and light rain until 10am. The wind should be perfect for my new stand at the main farm. Let's see if the deer cooperate...
Going to check the cams tomorrow I just cant get enough of not knowing when the deer are moving since season is a week away.
Last weekends card pull here sucked...our acorns are hitting the ground and deer have abandoned the feeders.
Good luck guys, can't wait to start hearing some hunting stories!! Covey, the deer are on acorns up here too, that's where you've got to be right now!
Co worker of mine saw 4 bucks Monday night within a half mile of my farm. Middle of the night but still nice to hear. Duck opener this weekend and I am in a wedding tomorrow too so wont be bow hunting for a while yet. Got 2.3" of rain yesterday so won't be combining til next week either. Busy busy busy here coming up.
While changing cards I was walking the logging road to my other cams and this is what I found: Here is the only pictures I got on cams! Been really bad on cams so far but I have a lot of standing corn in the area too.
