Had a good hunt yesterday in the rain. I hunted 100 acres of private woods. Saw 6 fawns and 10 does no older then 2. I had 6 yard shots on just about all of them but let them walk. This weather has been tricky and will rain coming all day today, it could make it a muddy mess this week for the deer. Good luck to all and stay safe.
i hunt in Burlington so Calhoun County. Already shot a doe seen quit a few hoping to add more meat to the freezer also looking for some private land to hunt. State land Sucks.
I here yes on how state land sucks. But hunt where I can, and sometimes you can find good bucks. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk 2

Hunted this weekend and the deer are up and moving pretty good now. Even came across this scrape that was 20 yards in front of my stand, wasn't there all weekend and this morning went out and found it. Must have happened over the night.
Are any of you guys familiar with Harsen's Island? Apparently there is some pretty good hunting there. Might go up there on Friday for a morning hunt.
Yeah and there is a dnr office right on it, its managed pretty well. They have a refuge area where no hunting is allowed and thats the corn. The timber around it is hunting land.
I live there in Algonac but really don't know much about the island. My neighbor hunts it often and says there are a few slammers there this year. I know he has a duck boat he uses though so that may be how he's getting into his spots though. A lot of state land and like the others said, some refuge that you cannot hunt so make sure you know where you are headed.
Another one from Michigan here. Live in Kent. Hunt in Ionia and Kent. Have seen some nice 8 pt bucks, missed 2 so far this year. Hoping my luck changes as the cold weather is here.
You guys seeing much? Been pretty slow here. Harsen's Island wasn't a total bust, saw 2 does on the road driving in and then saw a 4 point and a fawn while hunting but nothing we're looking to shoot. Other than that didn't see any deer this weekend.
Deer are up and moving where I'm at and actually been seeing bucks going after does but not hardcore chasing yet, just kinda trailing them
Anyone think it may be early to start light rattling this evening? I've been seeing trailing but no hard ore chasing yet. So just wondering if it would be to early to start rattling yet.
Im gonna do some rattling when I go up this weekend for sure, Buddy got a 5 point this past sunday and looks like the weather is identical or better this upcoming weekend, rut report is heavy with action right now in MI
