I just got in from a three hour sit. I had been in my Viper for a few minutes when I realized I was hearing a soft repeating sound under my stand. It was too steady to be anything alive, so I looked and my hydration bladder was leaking and water was dripping from my fanny pack. This would normally be no big deal, but my iPhone 3GS I had in a separate pouch got soaked and is ruined. About a half hour before first light a doe and a fawn showed up and I got to sit and watch them feed for a half hour 15 yards from me. Lucky for that old girl I wasn't after does today. Still it was a great experience just watching them.
I've seen phones take a swim in the pool and survive Don't turn it on, drop it in a container of rice and leave it for a day or so. Worked for a Navy commander I was in class with back in June.
Thanks - I'll give it a try, but one problem with that is that I can't get it to stay off. I shut it off and it powers back up on it's own, it turns the ringer down on it's own and the screen isn't lighting up. Ah well, I'm eligible for an upgrade (thank god).
