Over the last week, the leaves are now starting to show some fall colors.... Lots of reds and yellows... Mostly on the fringes of timber, not so much inside the woods.

Beans are mostly all yellow now with some fields having already dropped their leaves looking nearly ready for harvest.

Man, did this Autumn come fast!

What do things look like out your way?

Pretty green here in the Champlain islands but out in the mountains to the east color is starting to show. At my house we get a real big extension to summer due to the warming influence of the lake. Great for the garden. Big time picking of raspberries and black berries today.

I've noticed this past week things are starting to change a bit. My birches are dropping already, and there's a slight hint of color on the edges of the woods along the drive to work. Mornings certainly feel like fall:D Beans are still fairly green, and the corn is just starting to brown a bit.

Dogwoods, Walnuts, Buckeyes, redubuds and locusts are all starting to turn. Like you said on the fringes of timber and the immature trees. corn and beans are starting to turn as well.

This is the first real fall we've had in a couple 2 or 3 years. The past couple Septembers have been unseasonably hot and dry.. it's nice to be seasonable :)

Leaves are really turning here Scott.... the best part is the underbrush is really dropping leaves fast now and I should be able to hunt a stand that I didn't figure I would be able to on the first day. There is alot of small underbrush that would have made it difficult, but I checked it out yesterday and it should be good to go on Oct. 3rd!

Yep, the maples have been turning here for about 2 weeks. Up in the Adirondacks, they are pretty close to frost, with many nights in the low 40's, and dipping into the 30's at times. I spent last weekend at Dan's camp (Jaws) and there was a significant amount of leaves on the ground in the woods.

Things are still very green here in Illinois. All the bean fields on our farms are still green, the corn isn't looking anywhere near harvest ready, and no trees have begun to change.

But no matter if the leaves are green, red, or yellow.....OCTOBER PLEASE COME ALREADY!!!

And I've seen pumpkins for sale along the road..... it's coming.

On the way home from wings tonight, just over the hill stood 3 nice bucks. Saw 4 on the way, 3 on the way home, a mixture of hard antler and velvet.

We had a very cool summer and now the temps are up a bit, just in time for start of season yesterday. Only leaves changing here are turning brown because its so dry.

We are a long way from any crop harvest in my area. I have noticed a few trees starting to turn.
