Lets' say you're getting $30 in gas. Why is it the last .30 takes as long or longer than the previous $29.70 you just pumped? That dreadfull slow down of the pump to ease it's way to $30.00. You think maybe they could start the countdown at like $29.95? Seems to me like ample time to not go over the $30.00 mark. Like watching seconds tick off a clock. Especially pleasant when it's about 10 degrees out with a 30mph wind. Rant over.... carry on.

I know what you mean but I'm a little jealous. My last fillup was right around $50.

I put $64.50 in my truck, this morning.

    Here's a hint.....

If you use your credit/debit card, you don't get the dreaded lull.

I hear you loud and clear hoss, I have wondered the same thing for years. I also love it when you are finished, and the pump says please see cashier for receipt. I will not go to a gas station that requires me to go inside for the receipt, defeats the whole dang purpose of paying at the pump.

Oh believe me, I go in and get it everytime, just for the sake of keeping up with my receipts to match my account at the end of the month, it just pisses me off.

The worst is when I am going hunting and was to lazy to fill up the last time I drove. Now I have my hunting gear on. and guess what, no tennis shoes in the truck because I cleaned it up last time I ran. Too lazy to stop and get gas, too lazy to want to go in and get the receipt even though I do everytime, but not too lazy to go run 7 miles. Man I am warped with the things I moan about.:violin:

Just put in the card and fill up. No delay... no slow down... it's done. I also refuse to buy gas where I have to go inside. I'm retired with no responsibilities. Every minute is precious. I got to get the most out of the day. LOL

I'm with David. Slide card in, fill up, drive off. It was $72.00 at the last fill up. :( I almost never go inside the gas station.

There's one station in town that still let's you pump without paying first. It's a half mile out of my way, but I drive it every time. Pisses me off that dumbass people had to steal gas and make a PITA a bigger PITA.

With fuel prices rising, my fill ups will push $100 again by the end of next year in the Duramax.

I cant remember the last time I completely filled my truck up.

My wife filled our van today though. After saving a total of $33.88 it only cost $27. I love the fuel savings cards our grocery store has.:woot:

Now if I could somehow convince them to carry diesel for my truck.

Here's a better question...why doesn't EVERY "merchant" accept debit/credit cards? It should be a law.

If I pay with cash I get a .03¢ discount per gallon. The last fill up on my Ram3500 Cummins was $92.00. So yes, I walk in to pay and back in again to get my change. But hey, I can use the excercise.

If the retailer won't AT LEAST accept my debit card, I drive by their place to spend my money, elsewhere.

For you to have paper and coin money in your pockets.....means you had to drive to the bank and back, wait your turn, etc.... If you still find that method makes sense for you, more power to you. I HAVE to go to the bank, currently (to make deposits). I (and have, always) despise it.

That's all I have is cash. Always have.... always will. I'll never use a card of any type. If I want something I pay cash. If I don't have it I save it until I do.
