After reviewing and being quite impressed with the “Sweet-Thang” by Mossback, I was offered an opportunity to check out the “Knotty-Hottie” as well. I received the “Knotty Hottie” and had Ken one of the field-staff for GarysBowhunting come over and check this one out with me. He has been a turkey hunter for 45 years and I value his experience greatly. We began making cuts, clucks and did some cutting and with the very responsive paddle and we both again had found a sweet sounding box call. Of course Weston & Jodi have been doing this for sometime now and the experience shows in this new call from one of the leading manufacturers of game calls MossBack. This 100% American made call is made from only premium black walnut & Sycamore and being hand crafted you will not find short cuts on this call. The sounds that come from this box put it at the top of my call list for turkey season along with the “Sweet-Thang” and 1 other call. During Turkey season, I used three calls two of which were MossBacks the Knotty-Hottie and the Sweet-Thang. I have to say, we kept going back to the Knotty-Hottie for the sound and soon had turkeys coming in. Sad part is, we did not get to harvest a turkey since something spooked them.
